Wondering how to add seasonal touches to your kitchen without cluttering up the space? Today I’m sharing some easy spring kitchen decor ideas you can copy that will leave your kitchen feeling fresh, pretty, and still completely functional.
Our kitchen opens right into our living room, and since I already decorated that space for spring (you can see that post here), I wanted to carry the same light, airy feeling throughout the kitchen as well.

Spring Kitchen Decor Ideas to Refresh Your Space

When I decorate for spring, I like to keep things simple, especially in the kitchen, because we use this space every day.
Instead of adding a lot of extra decor, I focus on a few small changes that make a big impact without getting in the way of daily life.
For me, that means mixing decorative pieces with functional items, using what I already have whenever possible, and bringing in a few seasonal touches.
I also love incorporating DIY projects and thrifted finds to give the space a collected, personal feel.
The goal isn’t to completely redecorate—it’s just to refresh what’s already there so the space feels lighter, brighter, and ready for the new season.
Spring Kitchen Wall & Shelf Decor Ideas
To begin in the kitchen, I added a few simple spring touches to the walls and shelves.
These areas are perfect for decorating because they don’t take up any functional workspace but still make a big visual impact.
Keeping the decor simple and cohesive helps everything flow nicely around the kitchen and the eat-in area.
Hang a Wreath for an Easy Focal Point

Over the stove, I wanted to add something soft and seasonal, so I hung a small lamb’s ear wreath on a white frame with a blue background.
This is the same blue I used on several accent pieces in our living room, so it ties the two areas together nicely.
Layer Vintage Pieces on a Plate Rack for a Seasonal Touch

On our DIY built-in plate rack, I swapped in a vintage egg plate that I purchased at a yard sale for spring and layered it in front of a larger white platter.
It’s a simple change, but it adds just the right amount of seasonal charm.
I love using pieces like this because they feel special, but are still easy to mix in with everyday decor.
Style a Pie Shelf with Collected Decor

On the pie shelf between the kitchen and the eat-in area, I added a framed picture and paired it with my milk glass collection.
Since this shelf connects the two spaces, keeping the decor light and cohesive helps everything feel pulled together.
Kitchen Counter Spring Decor Ideas
When it comes to decorating the kitchen for spring, I like to keep my counters looking clean and uncluttered while still adding a few seasonal touches.
Since this is such a functional space, every piece I use either serves a purpose or adds just enough charm without getting in the way.
Here are all the details!
Prop Up Artwork for a Layered Look

One of my favorite ways to decorate kitchen counters is by layering a few smaller pieces together.
I propped up a spring canvas with a bird on it and paired it with a white candlestick holder and a small boxwood topiary for a simple but pretty vignette.
Style a Tray with Pretty and Practical Pieces

In the corner of the counter, I used a tray to group together a few items I love.
I layered a cutting board and another bird canvas in the back, then added a DIY cordless lamp and a small faux herb.
To finish it off, I draped my DIY block print kitchen towels over the edge of the tray for a soft, casual look.
Decorate with Topiaries for a Fresh Spring Touch

I created two small vignettes using items I already had on hand.
In one, I propped up a wooden cutting board, placed a white pitcher filled with wooden utensils in front of it, and added a topiary beside it.
For the second, I used another cutting board with a white tray holding matching oil and vinegar vessels and a stacked salt-and-pepper cellar, finishing the look with another topiary.
Add Height with a Tall Vase on the Island

To add a little height and balance to the space, I placed a large blue vase, purchased from a thrift store, on the island and filled it with white faux flowering branches.
Eat-In Kitchen Spring Decor Ideas

In our eat-in kitchen, I like to add a few more decorative touches while still keeping the space comfortable and functional for everyday use.
Since this area is a natural extension of the kitchen, I carried over the same simple styling to keep everything feeling cohesive.
Incorporate Natural Elements Like Grapevine and Ivy

To add some natural texture, I added a DIY grapevine topiary at each end of the buffet.
Then, I used an ivy garland (leftover from this DIY project) to wrap around a large grapevine wreath and displayed it on the mirror above.
This combination adds a soft, organic feel and ties in perfectly with the rest of my spring decor.
Decorate a Buffet Tray with Seasonal Accents

In the center of the buffet, I styled a DIY wood tray with a stack of four square plates and bowls I found at a yard sale.
On either side, I placed two off-white ceramic bunnies for a subtle seasonal touch.
It’s a simple arrangement, but it adds just enough charm without feeling overdone.
Create a Simple Spring Table Centerpiece

For the kitchen table, I made a tulip arrangement (DIY coming soon) to serve as a fresh and cheerful centerpiece.
It’s an easy way to bring in a pop of spring color and makes the whole eat-in area feel bright and inviting.
Closing Thoughts
Decorating your kitchen for spring doesn’t have to be complicated or expensive to make a big impact.
By making a few simple changes and using items you already have or make yourself, you can create a space that feels fresh, welcoming, and ready for the season.
