Hello there!
We’re Rich and Donna, and we’re so happy you have discovered our blog! We originally started it in September of 2019 after our youngest son graduated high school. We thought we would have a lot of extra time since we were “almost” empty nesters and we figured a blog would be a fun project to do together. I wanted to be able to share my love of organizing and DIY with others but had no idea how to start a blog on the computer. So Rich came to the rescue. He deals with the technical aspect and I now have a new creative outlet. Unfortunately, a couple of months into it, our whole lives changed! Little did we know that 2020 would bring a lot more than a pandemic our way.

Why the blog started and then stopped
It’s a very long story but here’s the shortened version. I had been dealing with an autoimmune disorder for two years. We decided it would be best if I retired and we moved to a warmer climate. I figured the blog would be a great way to stay in touch with family and friends, so I didn’t want to give up on it. We sold our house, moved in with my Dad, were quarantined due to the pandemic, and forced to buy a house online. We moved to Florida but not long after Rich was diagnosed with prostate cancer and had to have surgery. So, needless to say, the blog took a back seat. Now we are finally feeling settled and we’re ready to give this another try. We hope you’ll stick around and join us on this new journey! If you’d like to know more about our family, read on…
Where are you all from? Donna grew up in a small town called Crestwood, Kentucky which is just north of the city of Louisville. Rich was born and raised in Western Kentucky in Hopkinsville, better known as Hoptown. He moved to the Louisville area to attend the University of Louisville. We lived and raised our boys in Crestwood (Oldham County) and then relocated to central Florida in May 2020.
How long have you been married? Rich and I met in the summer of 1993. We got engaged in March of 1994 and were married that fall on November 5th. It’s hard to believe that so many years have gone by! Check out how much the color of our hair has faded…crazy huh??

Do you have children? Yes, we have three boys that we dearly love and are so grateful for. Evan graduated from Miami University in Ohio with a degree in Interactive Media Studies. He is currently working in Kentucky and living with my Dad. We’re hoping he’ll be able to find a job in Florida and join us here some day! Griffin also graduated from Miami University (finishing up by doing classes online from home because of pandemic) and received a degree in Interactive Media Studies with an Art minor. He is currently living with us and working but still looking for that dream a job here in Florida. Harrison just graduated last May from Montana State University in Bozeman, Montana. He received his undergraduate degree in Earth Sciences and aspires to be a Paleontologist. He has been accepted into a 5 year PhD program at Stony Brook University in Long Island, NY starting Fall 2023.

What are your jobs outside of blogging? Rich is a computer programmer and has been with the same company for 25+ years. Donna worked as a hairdresser for 30 years and recently retired due to health issues.
What are your hobbies? Rich is a technology geek, who loves to watch sports and do DIY projects. Donna loves to organize everything she can get her hands on, decorate for the seasons, make crafts and scrapbook with friends.
What do you do for fun? We like to see movies and eat out at great restaurants (not happening much these days). We love to entertain family and friends in our home. We enjoy outings in our camper and traveling to new places. Our favorite place to vacation is Disney World and now we can go there as often as we like! So happy to live so close to the magic!!

You’ve learned a little bit about about our past and now we hope you’ll join us as we blog our way through the next year! It will be fun to see what the future holds for us!
Blessings, Rich and Donna
