The Inspiration for Our DIY Carrot Wreath

If you’ve been following the blog for a while, you might remember the beautiful DIY tulip wreath I made a couple of years ago—it’s been a favorite piece in my spring decor ever since!
Recently, I visited my favorite home decor stores in search of fresh inspiration for the season.
While browsing at Michael’s, I spotted the cutest carrot-shaped wreath made of faux tulips and immediately knew I could recreate it using the flowers from my original wreath.
I love the challenge of repurposing items I already have on hand to save money and keep my seasonal decor budget-friendly.
This project was the perfect way to give my tulip wreath new life while adding a fun and whimsical touch to my spring decor!
Gather Materials

Gather the following materials to complete this project:
- Carrot wreath form- Dollar Tree
- Faux tulips- Michael’s
- Greenery picks- two from Hobby Lobby
- Hot glue gun and glue sticks
- Silicone finger protectors
- Scissors/wire cutters
- Green paint- FolkArt Thicket Bosquet- Hobby Lobby
- Paintbrush
Steps to make a DIY Carrot Wreath
Prepare the Base

- Trace a carrot shape onto a piece of cardboard and cut it out.
- Use hot glue to securely attach the wire wreath form to the cardboard for added stability.
Note: Please use caution while using a hot glue gun. The glue is very hot and can cause blisters. We suggest using silicone finger protectors!
- Flatten the wires of the carrot top, then paint them green to enhance the natural look.
Note: Oops! I did not think that the orange wire would show through the greenery picks I used for the carrot top, so I did not paint the wires during the preparation steps. That’s why the picture below looks out of order.

Arrange and attach the tulips

- Begin at the pointed tip of your carrot. Trim the excess stem from a tulip and glue it in place.
- For the next row, glue two tulips slightly overlapping the first.
- Continue adding tulips in a staggered pattern, increasing the number of flowers per row as you move upward (three in several rows, four in a few rows, and so on).
- Adjust the placement as needed to ensure full coverage and a natural shape.
- Stop before reaching the top—leave the last row empty for now.
Add the greenery top

- Gently spread out your greenery pick for a fuller look.
- To create the carrot top, hot glue one piece slightly left of center and the other slightly right of center.
The final touch

Remove the stems from three tulips and glue them on top of the other tulips.
Optional idea: Add a bow to embellish your DIY carrot wreath!
Display Your DIY Carrot Wreath

I originally made this with the intent to hang it on our front door but decided to display our pretty wreath on this metal artwork we recently thrifted!

It’s a fabulous addition to our dining room, and now I need to create a tablescape to accompany it!
In Conclusion
I hope this DIY carrot wreath inspires you to add a fun and festive touch to your spring decor!
Whether crafting for Easter or simply welcoming the new season, this budget-friendly project is an easy way to brighten your home.
