We’ve been enjoying seeing all the creative Halloween decorations on our morning walks around the neighborhood, and thought you might like to see some of them.

Our high temperature is only supposed to reach 69 degrees today, and the low could drop to 49 degrees, so it almost feels like fall here in Florida!

It’s going to be such a fun night with the kids out trick-or-treating, pumpkins glowing, and that crisp autumn air setting the mood.

I hope your day is filled with plenty of treats and just the right amount of spooky fun!
As October comes to an end, we’re taking a moment to look back on all the cozy, creative things we did this month—from fall adventures and DIY projects to getting our home organized and ready for the busy season ahead.
So grab a cup of something warm, settle in, and enjoy this month’s rewind!
WHAT WE DID BEHIND THE SCENES IN October
Renninger’s Fall in the Field

The first weekend in October is always one of our favorites because we love to attend Renninger’s “Fall in the Field” Celebration!
It’s such a fun event that really gets us in the fall spirit.
My friend and fellow blogger, CoCo from The Crowned Goat, shared a full post about it—be sure to check it out to see all the charming details of this autumn experience.
Our primary purpose in going was to get pumpkins to decorate the front porch!
We came home with ten pretty heirloom pumpkins, but that’s not all!
I was able to add 12 small gourds to my collection (I love using them in my fall decorating!).
But the most exciting find of the day wasn’t pumpkins or gourds—it was brown transferware!

Over a year ago, I found a single dinner plate (pictured on the stand) with this pattern at a thrift store, so imagine my excitement when I spotted two salad plates, a teapot, and two cup-and-saucer sets to match!
The pattern is called Cotswold and was made by Johnson Brothers.
I couldn’t believe my luck—what a perfect fall treasure!
Explored a new restaurant
Now that the temps have dropped, we’ve been hitting the Disney parks more often (especially the Food and Wine Festival at EPCOT)!
If you’re new to our blog, you may not know that I have several food sensitivities and two of our kids have food allergies.
We’re so fortunate to live near Walt Disney World, where the chefs are wonderful about accommodating dietary needs.
We love sharing our dining experiences in case it helps others looking for allergy-friendly options!
Roundup Rodeo BBQ
This month, we finally tried a restaurant that’s been open for a while—Roundup Rodeo BBQ at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

If you’re a Toy Story fan, you’ll love the theming!
It’s like stepping into a rodeo arena that Andy built with his toys.
The meal
The restaurant serves family-style, all-you-can-eat platters that come right to your table.

The meal began with bread—a gluten-free roll with pepper jelly for me and cheddar biscuits for Rich.

Next came two salads: a tomato salad with cucumbers, pickled red onion, and white balsamic vinaigrette, and a watermelon salad with fresh mint.
Both were light, fresh, and delicious—a perfect start since the main course is definitely hearty!

The House-Smoked Meats Platter included ribs, beef brisket, grilled pork sausage, and BBQ chicken.
The ribs were our favorite—tender and full of flavor.
The brisket, sausage, and chicken were good, just not standouts for us.

The sides were plentiful!
Rich was thrilled to have the mac and cheese (since he never gets it at our house), while my favorite was the potato barrels—crispy on the outside, soft inside, and seriously addictive.
I also enjoyed the tangy veggie slaw.
Rich liked the baked beans and the street corn with cotija cheese and spices.
They brought me plain corn on the cob, but it was a bit dry, and with so many other great options, I didn’t miss it.
Yummy desserts

And then came dessert—so much dessert!
I was thrilled to get not one but two gluten and dairy-free strawberry shortcakes.
Rich, on the other hand, was served one of everything: cheesecake, chocolate silk pie, banana cream pie, strawberry shortcake, and a Forky-themed cupcake.
His favorite?
The banana cream pie—which totally surprised me!
We had a great experience overall—the service was fantastic, the atmosphere was adorable, and we left absolutely stuffed.
Would we go back?
Yes! But since The Polite Pig in Disney Springs still holds the title for our favorite BBQ, it might be a little while before our next visit.
