We filled our days with a mix of spring decorating, a few creative DIY projects, and lots of time with family, which is always my favorite part.
Is it warming up where you live yet?
We’ve been enjoying spending time outdoors since it’s warm but not hot!

Here’s a little peek at what we worked on around the house, what we’ve been up to behind the scenes, and a few ideas to help you get your home ready for the season ahead.
WHAT WE DID BEHIND THE SCENES In March
Half Bath Update

We finally got back to work on our half bath makeover this month—yay!
It felt so good to make some progress again, even if it didn’t last as long as we had hoped.
With lots of company coming and going, projects got paused more than once, but that’s just how it goes sometimes.
We did manage to tape off the room for the picture-frame molding, then paint, cut, and attach it to the walls.
It’s always encouraging to see a space start to come together, even in small steps!
Family Visit

We always love it when family or friends can come to visit, and this month didn’t disappoint!
Our nephew and his wife were in Florida for a golf tournament and were able to come stay with us for a few days afterward.
It was so nice to spend quality time together and just catch up.
They spent one day at Magic Kingdom, and we joined them after work and had a blast.
We just wish they could have stayed longer!
Spring Break Fun
Spring break brought one of my favorite things—having our youngest home for the week!
We packed in a lot of fun while he was here.

He came along with us to the first yard sale of the year at Renninger’s. It wasn’t our most successful trip, but I did manage to find three treasures to bring home, so I’m calling that a win!

We also took a beach day trip to St. Petersburg, and it was so relaxing.

Then we headed to Disney and spent time at the Flower and Garden Festival at EPCOT. The topiaries were absolutely amazing, and of course, we couldn’t resist trying some of the delicious food from the booths and enjoying a few rides, too!

One evening, we went over to Disney Springs for dinner and a little shopping, and then took a boat ride to Port Orleans French Quarter for beignets. They even have dairy- and gluten-free options, which made it even better for us—such a fun little adventure!

We also spent a morning at the Oakland Nature Preserve, and it felt like we stepped right into a nature show. We saw tons of baby lubber grasshoppers, several alligators, and so many birds. The highlight was spotting an osprey at the top of a tree eating a fish (I’ll spare you that picture, it’s a bit gross)—truly nature at its finest.

Decor

This month, I had so much fun adding a little festive touch to our home for St. Patrick’s Day.
I styled our mantel and dining room with simple seasonal pieces made with moss and ivy.
I didn’t get a full post written in time, but I wanted to share a peek with you.

HOME ORGANIZATION WEEKLY TASK

If you’re ready to take advantage of the warmer weather, April is the perfect time to focus on those outdoor and storage spaces.
Here’s a simple plan to guide you each week:
- Week 14- Porch, patio, lanai, deck. Start by clearing everything off and giving the space a good sweep (or rinse if needed). Wipe down furniture, refresh cushions, and only bring back what you love and use. This is also a great time to add a simple seasonal touch like a plant or wreath.
- Week 15- Yard. Focus on a basic refresh rather than a full overhaul. Walk your yard and pick up debris, trim overgrown areas, define any flower beds, and add new mulch. Even just an hour or two of tidying can make a big difference in how your outdoor space feels.
- Week 16- Garage. Choose one section at a time so it doesn’t feel overwhelming. Start by grouping like items together, then declutter anything you no longer need. Use bins, hooks, or shelves to keep things accessible and easy to maintain.
- Week 17- Attic. This is a great space tackle before it gets hot. Look for items you can donate or toss, consolidate bins, and label anything that isn’t clearly marked.
- Week 18- Basement or storage shed. Pull out anything that doesn’t belong, sweep the space, and reorganize by category. Make sure frequently used items are easy to reach, and store seasonal items together so they’re simple to find next time.
