Steps to Decorate an Easter Table
1. Stick to a Simple Color Palette

When you’re short on time, don’t overthink it—pick a couple of colors and go from there.
I’m using neutrals with pops of pink!
Classic pastels, such as baby blue, blush pink, lavender, and soft yellow, always work beautifully for Easter.
Look around your home for linens, napkins, or plates in your chosen colors—you’ll be surprised what you can put together with what you already have!
2. Grab a Table Runner (Or Improvise!)

A table runner adds instant polish to any tablescape.
If you don’t have one on hand, don’t stress!
Try repurposing a scarf, fabric remnant, tea towel, or even a strip of kraft or wrapping paper.
You can see how I used an old curtain as a runner here!
Layering a few different textures—like burlap with lace or linen—can make it feel extra special.
3. Create a Quick and Easy Centerpiece
You don’t need an elaborate floral arrangement to make a statement.
I took a thrifted urn and filled it with faux tulips that were leftover from making this carrot wreath!
Then, I added these adorable bunnies I purchased from Walmart and called it done!
Here are a few easy centerpiece ideas you can throw together in minutes:
- Fill a bowl or basket with dyed or plastic eggs.
- Arrange grocery store flowers (like tulips or daisies) in mason jars or small vases.
- Place candles on a tray and add a few spring accents like mini bunnies, faux eggs, or greenery.
Pro tip: Odd numbers work best—try grouping items in threes or fives for a balanced look.
4. Sprinkle in a Little Whimsy

Easter is the perfect time to have a little fun with your decor!
I sprinkled speckled eggs along the table runner.
Dig into your spring bin or look around your house for:
- Ceramic bunnies, chicks, or lambs.
- Mini egg garlands or faux nests.
- Cake stands or trays to add height and interest.
A few playful touches go a long way in creating a festive atmosphere.
5. Dress Up Each Place Setting

Even the simplest place settings can feel special with a few thoughtful touches.
I made bunny ears with white cloth napkins, an egg, and DIY napkin rings (I created several years ago!)
Try one of these:
- Fold napkins neatly or tie them with ribbon or twine.
- Place a chocolate bunny or egg on each plate.
- Make quick DIY place cards with cardstock or printables (or write names on tags!).
These tiny details add charm and make guests feel welcome.
6. Add Soft Lighting
Candles or fairy lights can completely transform your space and make everything cozy.
I added a pom pom trim around the base of plain votive candles to dress them up a bit!
Use what you have:
- Votives or pillar candles in glass jars.
- Battery-operated tea lights or fairy string lights.
- Lanterns or candleholders for height and glow.
7. Bring in Natural Touches
An easy and inexpensive way to decorate is to bring in natural elements!
Snip some branches, flowers, or herbs from your yard and scatter them down the center of the table or place a sprig at each setting.
Purchase grocery store flowers or potted plants from your local garden center to use as a favor at each place setting.
Quick Ways to Add Easter Cheer Around the Room
If you have time, don’t stop at the table, we have more Easter decor ideas!
A few simple touches around the room can make your whole space feel ready for Easter without requiring much extra effort.
Here are a few quick ideas you’ll love:
Dress up a Wreath

You can dress up a wreath you already have by adding a few Easter eggs, faux flowers, or a bunny ornament/pick.
I added some speckled eggs to a DIY ribbon wreath I already had, and it instantly felt more festive!
Hang a cute garland
Garlands are one of the easiest and most inexpensive ways to add seasonal flair to your home!
I picked up this adorable bow garland from Walmart and strung it across the mantel.
It only took a few minutes to hang, and it looks so sweet!
You can drape a garland over doors, windows, mirrors, chandeliers, or hang it over furniture.
Add a bunny or two
I adore decorating with bunnies during spring, so I say add one, two, or more around the room!
I placed a thrifted wooden bunny and these adorable DIY bunny eggs on our mantel!
You can display bunnies on a bar cart, sideboard, shelves, or in a china cabinet or hutch.
Other Easy Ideas
These little changes can make a big difference—and they’re perfect when you want to add a festive touch without doing a complete makeover.
- If you’ve got Easter figurines or even spring plush animals, sprinkle them around the room.
- Fill bowls or jars with plastic eggs or candy.
- Swap out a pillow or tea towel for something spring-inspired (even if it’s just a pastel color!).
No Time? No Problem.

Remember, you don’t have to do everything on this list to create a beautiful Easter setting.
Pick a few ideas that work for you, use what you already have, and most importantly, enjoy the day.
Sometimes the most charming setups are the simplest ones.

Such a beautiful tablescape, Donna! I love how you mixed the neutrals with pops of pink and added in all the sweet bunnies and eggs. It feels like such a special way to celebrate the season. Hope you and your family had a fabulous Easter weekend. Big hugs, CoCo
Thanks my friend! We had a wonderful weekend! I’m going to be sad to put the sweet bunnies away for summer! Thanks so much!
Your tablescape is beautiful Donna. You have so many wonderful ideas packed into Easter dinner, I love it. I am betting your dinner was off the charts with your table decor, and all the ideas. The bunnies made from eggs is priceless! We had to go away for Easter dinner, so no decorations here. Hope you enjoyed yourself.
Thank you Cara! We had a wonderful Easter, but I do miss being with all of our extended family! I hope you had a safe trip and a happy holiday!
