And let’s do it the easy way!
Instead of trying to figure out how to attach individual lemons to a wreath form, I’m using a lemon garland to make the process super simple.
This DIY is so easy that you might not even need a tutorial—but I’m sharing one anyway, just in case you want a few extra tips.
It’s a quick project that brings a sunny pop of color to your home for summer, or anytime you need a little pick-me-up!
Materials

Ready to make your own lemon wreath?
Here’s everything I used for this simple project:
- Lemon garland- Hobby Lobby- Blossoming flowers and lemon garland
- Wire wreath form- Dollar Tree
- Greenery- Hobby Lobby- Boxwood and berry bush
- Floral Wire
- Wire cutters
- Floral tape
Money-Saving Tip: Hobby Lobby florals go on sale every other week, so be sure to time your purchase when they’re discounted—you can usually get them for 40% off!
Steps to Make a DIY Lemon Wreath

1) Attach the lemon garland
Start by laying your garland on top of the wire wreath form to see how it fits.
Then, use floral wire to secure it in place.

Start at a cross-section of the form and wrap the wire around both the garland and the form.
Continue around the form, securing the garland at each cross-section.

Don’t worry if there are small gaps—we’ll fill those in next!
To prevent the floral wire from scratching your front door (or any surface you hang it on), be sure to attach it to the innermost wires of the wreath form (the ones that are raised).
2) Prepare the greenery

Use wire cutters to snip each branch from your greenery bush.
I ended up with twelve sections.
To make each piece look fuller, gently push the leaves toward the top of the stem.
These little bundles will be perfect for tucking into any sparse areas and help give your wreath a more balanced look.
3) Fill in the gaps

Now it’s time to fill out your wreath.
Start by placing pieces of greenery in any sparse areas.
I began using floral wire to secure them, but quickly switched to floral tape—and I’m so glad I did!
It was much easier and faster to work with.
To use floral tape effectively, stretch it slightly as you wrap—it becomes tacky when pulled and sticks to itself.
Wrap it around both the greenery stem and the wreath form to hold everything securely in place.

Continue around the wreath form until you’ve attached all the sections.
4) Fluff and adjust
Once all your greenery is in place, take a few minutes to fluff the wreath.

I gently pulled the white flowers and lemons up through the greenery so they wouldn’t get buried.
This helps the lemons really stand out and adds sweet little touches of white throughout the green.
Step back and make any final adjustments to ensure everything looks full and evenly spaced.
5) Hang and enjoy!

I hung our DIY lemon wreath on the front door to welcome our guests!

You can hang yours on an interior door, above a mantel, or anywhere that needs a burst of color; it’s sure to brighten up your home.
