They’re adorable, and I thought this would be a fun and easy craft!
You can style them in so many different ways!
After I show you how to make this wood bead garland with tassels, I’ll show you four ways to use it in your decor.
STEPS TO MAKE A DIY WOOD BEAD GARLAND
Gather supplies

Gather the following supplies to complete this project:
- Wood beads
- Jute twine or yarn
- Scissors
- Scotch tape
- Index cards
- Ruler
String The garland
You can make your garland any size; I will make mine four feet long, including the tassels.
Here are the steps I used:
Measure jute for the garland you want- I cut a piece measuring four feet long.

Scotch tape one end of the jute.

String the beads, leaving six inches of jute at each end for the tassels.

I chose to use three beads of different sizes.

Here is the configuration I decided to use.
Make The tassels
First, cut a piece of jute twelve inches long.
Repeat this step so you have two pieces of twelve-inch jute.
Set them aside; you will use them later to wrap the top of the tassel.

Now, it’s time to make the tassel.
You can make it as long or short as you like.
I use a 1/4-inch high stack of index cards as a template; this prevents bending during wrapping.
Wrapping the jute parallel to the longer side produces a longer tassel while wrapping around the short side perpendicularly yields a shorter one.

I wanted a long tassel, so I wrapped the jute parallel to the lines on the card fifteen times and then cut the string from the jute roll.
Attach The tassel
Lay the index card next to the garland.

Pick up one end of the garland and pull the string under the wrapped pieces at the top.
Make a knot as close to the bead as you can.

Pull tight to gather the tassel together.
FINISH The TASSEL
Do not remove the index card.

Take your scissors and cut the jute along the end of the card.
Remember the twelve-inch pieces of jute you cut earlier?

Grab one of them and tie it around the tassel, making a knot to ensure its hold.

Wrap the rest of the jute around the tassel and make a knot at the end, tucking the little bit of excess.
Repeat the steps for tassel number two!
Sometimes, your tassel may not be entirely even on the bottom.

If that happens, take your scissors and cut the extra length off the bottom.
