Spring is such a wonderful time of the year! Outside the sun is shining, the sky is a beautiful blue, and the grass is bright green. To mimic the outdoors, I am going to add a bit of blue to my living room. Next, I’ll add pops of bright green all around my home. To lighten my rooms, I’ll pull out white dishes and decor items to brighten every space. I hope you enjoy my helpful ideas to brighten up the spring decor in your home.

Welcome to my foyer
Hello and please come in! When you enter our home, we have a two-story foyer with a gorgeous staircase. Because it’s an open floor plan, this is the only wall we can put furniture on. I love to style this area with seasonal decor.
ADD BEAUTIFUL FLOWERS
Beautiful spring flowers are so welcoming! These beautiful faux branches scream Spring at its finest! The bright pink and green colors grab your attention as soon as you enter the house.
Create a simple vignette
Nothing says Spring like baskets and bunnies! I created this pretty vignette with one of my favorite baskets, two moss-covered bunnies, and a statue (that I recently updated with white paint and antique wax. To see the DIY click HERE. The basket is so simple, but it makes a big statement!
Display Candlesticks in an unusual way
Instead of putting candles on top of the candlesticks, I opted to use moss-covered balls. I love the pop of green that it adds, and they match the bunnies, which tie it all together. To give more height to the items on the left end, I sat one of the candlesticks on top of a basket.
Ideas for spring decor in the Living room
Our home is an open concept design, which I love, and think is remarkable for entertaining (not that we’ve entertained anyone lately). Our living room is very comfortable and inviting. I tried to bring the joy of Spring into several places in this room.
Decorate the focal point of the room
The focal point of our living room is the television console table. I think this is a beautiful piece of furniture! On the left side of the tv, I placed a large white vase that contains faux dogwood branches. Beside it, I placed a white fleur-de-lis statue and a gray bunny. The vase used to be dark brown. To see how I painted it white, click HERE. On the right side of the tv, I used two candlesticks and another cute little gray bunny. To add height to that side, I sat the candlesticks on a stack of books.
Style bookshelves for the season
One of my best helpful ideas to brighten up your Spring decor is to remove dark decor items and replace them with white dishes. That strategy brightened up my bookshelves! Next, I turned all of my books around, so the dark spines did not show. Some people might think this is highly unusual, but I like the look. I originally saw this idea on Fixer Upper, so if it’s good enough for Joanna Gaines, it’s good enough for me!! I added greenery to bring in pops of bright green here and there!
Change the pillows on your furniture
If you haven’t figured it out yet, I have a love affair with pillows! Every season I change the pillows on my couch! This is the main way I incorporated the color blue in my Spring decor.
The pillow obsession continues on my chairs and the chaise lounge. As far as I’m concerned, you can’t have too many pillows!! Oh yes, to make the room cozier for cool spring mornings and evenings, add a throw blanket. Then, add some adorable dogs, and the room is perfect!
Dress up your coffee table
To dress up my coffee table, I started with a clear glass-lidded vase and filled it with eggs that I painted myself! So proud of myself to see the DIY project click HERE. Next, I added the topiary. It looked too short, so I grabbed a book to sit it on. I put the white egg in front of both and then dropped a wood bead garland over the book. Stay tuned for a DIY on how to make this cute garland!
Add seasonal art to your walls
I have to be honest with you…I did not buy this piece of art specifically for Spring decor. You see, I have been looking for a picture to display on this wall of the living room since we moved into the house. Unfortunately, I could not find anything I liked. Finally, I found this picture and fell in love! I knew I was on to something when two people stopped me in the store to ask if there were anymore!! I’m just bummed because I’m not going to want to keep it up during fall and winter. Oh well, it looks fabulous on the wall for now. As soon as Rich hung it up, I said, “the table underneath it is too small, you’re going to have to build me something to go there”! He just smiled!!! Does one little change in your home lead to three more things that need to be changed??? Funny how that happens, huh?
Add simple spring decor to the Kitchen
Since the kitchen is completely open to the living room, I feel like I have to keep it tidy at all times. So, I don’t want to clutter the counters with a lot of decorations. I made a rule that anything on the counter has to be functional or easy to move. If I decide to display more than one item, I use a tray. If it needs to be moved, I can pick everything up at once! A few items can go a long way in this room! Here are a couple more helpful ideas to brighten Spring decor in your kitchen.
Freshen up your coffee station
I know, I’m late for the tiered tray party. Well, better late than never! We recently purchased a Keurig that has an actual coffee pot, so I needed something to store ground coffee. I found these cute containers at Hobby Lobby to hold coffee and sugar. Next, I decided to buy a tiered tray to hold them. The tray is super functional and provided room to add a few Spring touches! This will be a lot of fun to decorate each season!
Hang seasonal towels
Another functional way to add seasonal decor to the kitchen is to hang towels on your oven doors! Isn’t the bunny cute!
Add elements of Spring to the Eat-in kithcen
If you already follow the blog, you know we recently made over the eat-in kitchen. If not, check out the transformation HERE. I am so thrilled with how it turned out. The white table and chairs look great with any color I decide to use in this space. For Spring I am using bright white and green in this area!
set a spring themed table
Each season, I like to switch the placemats on the table. For Spring, I chose these beautifully woven mats that coordinate with the cake plate. I decided to use white plates and napkins. I tied the napkin around the utensils with jute. It’s very simple, but I love it!
Add a spring centerpiece
On my table, I laid down a moss runner. It’s really cute but it does shed! Next, I added a wooden cake plate and a cloche. Inside the cloche, I added moss, a white bird on a stick, and a tiny bird’s nest. I think that little bird’s nest is so adorable!
Decorate a shelf
We built this shelf and I love it! I am mainly using it for decor but could use it to serve food if needed. It is so fun to decorate! To see the DIY click HERE.
I think white flowers, in a white vase, are so striking! Aren’t these tulips beautiful!
My favorite decor item this Spring is the small vignette. I used a skinny wooden tray with white dishes, a bird statue, and moss balls. I’m not sure why I like it so much? I just think it’s very refreshing to look at!
