Steps to make napkin rings
Cover the ring
The only hard part of this project is trying not to burn your fingers on the hot glue! Otherwise, it’s super easy! The first step is to cover the napkin rings with a ribbon!
Unhook the shower curtain ring. Add a dab of hot glue to the inside edge of the ring. I’m not sure if dab is a real word, but I’m going to use it anyway!
Attach the ribbon to the glue and press down until the ribbon sticks. The glue is hot, so don’t use your finger as I did. Ouch, learn from my mistakes! Instead of using my finger, I grabbed a wooden toothpick to hold the material down. Much better!!!
Wrap ribbon around the plastic ring, keeping it tight as you go. It’s great that the ring can open, so you don’t have to cut the ribbon before you wrap it.
When you get to the end, snap the ring closed and cut the ribbon. Leave just enough fabric to glue to the inside edge of the ring.
Add hot glue and press the end down until it sticks. Oh yes, and please, ignore my dry cuticles! It looks like somebody needs a manicure!!
Here is the finished ring! I need nine, so I have eight more to go! Time to get busy!
Attach flower
Now the fun part, embellishing the ring with a pretty flower! There’s no end to what you could glue on the top of the ring. You could use a small Easter egg or a tiny nest! Just use your imagination!!
Add a dab of hot glue to the top of the ring.
Press the flower into the hot glue. I put another dab of glue on each side of the flower to make sure it would stay!
Isn’t it cute! I just love how they turned out! Who knew a cheap plastic shower curtain ring could look so good!!!
Here is the napkin holder holding a white napkin. I decided to make the napkin into a bow! Here are the instructions to make this!
How to fold A napkin into a bow
Follow my step-by-step instructions to turn a napkin into this cute bow!
Lay your napkin flat on the table.
Fold the napkin in half to make a triangle.
Next, fold the top corner down approximately two inches.
Turn the napkin down, a second time.
The third time’s a charm!
Finish up with the fourth fold!
Now you need to fold the right side inward but angled down a bit.
Next, fold the left side inward and across the right side.
Turn the napkin holder upside down and slide it through the right end of the bow.
Then continue sliding the right side of the bow through the ring.
Turn the bow over and pull the ends down. Fluff top of the bow until you get the look you like! Wow, just like that and you have a beautiful bow!
I hope you enjoyed my tutorial! Now that you know how to create inexpensive floral napkin rings, will you try this at your home? If you don’t have time to make your napkin rings, you should try folding your napkins in a bow! It’s much easier than it looks and will dress up the look of your table!

What a great idea!! And I love the napkin folding, too. Great tutorial! Have you seen the silicone finger protectors yet? I got mine at Dollar Tree; they are bright pink so I can find them easily. Makes holding hot glue things in position SO much easier and safer! I stick them on the ends of my glue sticks to store them!
