8 Steps to create table decor for valentines day
1) Determine what table to use
Valentine’s Day in our home is usually a family affair and takes place around the dining room table!
However, this year, I decided to create a more intimate table setting for two!
I decided to use our eat-in kitchen table because I can remove the leaf and turn it into a small round table. The perfect size for two people!
Tip-If you’re setting a table for two and don’t have a cozy space, make one yourself.
Consider setting up a small table in front of the fireplace or a window that has a nice view. Don’t have a small table? Use your coffee table and put big pillows on the floor to sit on!
2) CHOOSE A COLOR THEME
This year, I made this amazing heart wreath with blush Teddy Bear Yarn.
I love pink and have several decor items that will match the blush color!
So, I went on the hunt for pink, white, and cream decor items around the house.
I pulled out my heart garland, my faux fur Christmas garlands, and several white decor items.
3) dress up the table
To make the table look more formal, I decided to use a long table cloth.
Unfortunately, I don’t own a long tablecloth, so I had to get creative!
I thought a drop cloth would be perfect, but it was too small, so I decided to use two.
Next, I clipped two Christmas garlands with pink and white faux fur balls around the table!
4) CHOOSE A CENTERPIECE
I shopped my house for pink and white flowers, and this is what I came up with!
Three small bouquets, instead of one large arrangement!
Tip-Your centerpiece does not have to go in the center of the table!
I put my “centerpiece” on the outside edge of the table, so it won’t block the view of my handsome, sweet husband!
5) INCORPORATE CANDLES
Is there anything more romantic than candlelight?
Whether you’re setting an intimate table for two or a dining room table for the whole family, you should include candlelight!
I added candles to the table and the shelf!
6) SET THE TABLE
I chose pink chargers, cream dinner plates, white salad plates, and pink and white bowls.
The glasses and utensils have gold accents that match the candlesticks and ribbon of the heart garland.
I used two napkins and tied them together with the same yarn I used to make the wreath!
7) ADD COZY DETAILS
To make my chairs more comfortable, I added these amazing blush pink pillows to the chairs!
8) Display your dessert
If you are serving a pretty dessert, you should show it off on your table! Instant decor!
These amazing cupcakes are from Erin McKenna’s Bakery in Disney Springs.
So hard to believe they are gluten and dairy-free!
They are brownie cupcakes with strawberry jam filling and strawberry frosting! Yum!

our family Valentines day Tradition
When our boys were young, I didn’t have the budget, time, or energy to decorate an elaborate table for Valentine’s day!
However, I wanted to teach them the importance of celebrating those they love.
I decided to make Valentine’s Day special and a new tradition was born!
Valentine’s Day became a family affair!
I would set our dining room table with flowers, light candles, and serve pasta, a family favorite meal!
After dinner, everyone would receive a small gift and we’d have a special dessert! Did you notice the heart-shaped cake on the table??
Look how young we all look, these pictures are from 2011! Fun times making memories!
2022
Hope you enjoyed that little blast from the past! My style has changed a lot over the years, but my desire to make this day special has never ceased!
