Are you ready to make your home a summer sanctuary?
Let’s decorate!
Summer Home Decor Ideas
We hope these simple suggestions inspire you to capture the essence of summer in your home.
Throw pillow Switch
An easy and inexpensive way to decorate your living room for summer is to add light or bright throw pillows.
If you want to switch your throw pillows for each season, consider purchasing pillow covers that are easy to store and take up way less room than pillows!
I love the texture of these pillow covers.
Both covers were purchased at Hobby Lobby during a clearance sale.
Summer-inspired Art Work
Consider buying or making seasonal art to decorate your walls.
We have a frame TV which makes it easy to display seasonal art.
Unfortunately, my pictures always have a pink hue to them however, in real life, they look neutral.
Try to imagine it without the pink!!
If it’s not in your budget to buy new artwork, think about making it yourself!
I purchased a bag of shells to create this gallery wall to add a coastal touch to our living room.
You can see how I created the seashell wall decor here!
Introduce Nature-Inspired Accents
Each season, I enjoy adding nature-inspired accents around the house.
I try to find creative ways to use natural materials like wicker/rattan baskets and light-colored wood items during summer.
Display a collection of baskets on a console table.
I adore these stacking baskets with a scalloped trim lid.
The boys gave them to me for Mother’s Day!
You can remove the lids, turn them over, and use them as small trays!
I purchased this rattan vase from AT Home for 50% off.
I topped my tiered tray in the kitchen with an adorable basket I found at the Target Dollar Spot during Spring.
The kitchen island holds a rattan vase filled with faux palm branches.
And a wooden bowl full of lemons!
The scalloped cutting board was another clearance find from At Home.
Highlight summer-themed decor items
Bring the outdoors inside with coastal touches using seashells, coral, and faux palm branches.
We are fortunate to live in Florida where we can collect shells from our favorite beaches!
I filled two vases and two trays with our seashell collection.
If you don’t live near a beach don’t worry you can buy inexpensive shells to decorate with!
I was fortunate to find this gorgeous clam shell from Home Goods with a clearance sticker!
I wanted to fill it with seashells but had already used the ones we collected so I purchased these beautiful shells.
Coral figurines provide an elegant touch to summer home decor!
More faux palm fronds rest in a vase I painted with stone textured spray paint.
Enhance Your Lighting
Here’s a budget-friendly tip to give your lamps a summer makeover!
There’s no need to buy a new lamp when you can update the shade and get a completely new look for the season!
I love how these handwoven natural lampshades give a coastal summery vibe to the room!
During Spring, I updated this lamp with a light-colored scalloped shade!
Another simple way to enhance your lighting is to display a group of light-colored candlesticks with white candles.
I sat a 12′ pillar candle holder, a 16′ pillar candle holder, and a 10″ pillar candle holder on a stack of white painted books and placed another coral figurine beside them.
Set a Tablescape with a Summer Theme
We have two dining areas inside our home and I decorated them with festive summer themes!
First up is the eat-in kitchen, which is open to the living room!
To tie the two rooms together, I stayed with the same theme.
The coastal-inspired tablescape was perfect for Father’s Day and we’ll enjoy the nautical items for all our summer celebrations!
Now let’s take a look at the dining room!
It’s dressed up in red, white, and blue to celebrate!

Conclusion
We hope these home decor suggestions inspire you to create a cheerful and inviting atmosphere that captures the essence of summer.
Don’t be afraid to experiment and make these ideas your own.
Happy decorating!

I love the pink hue, so I am all in. I always love seeing your kitchen, the backsplash makes me feel right at home (my mom had the same tile backsplash when I was growing up). The baskets from your sons are adorable, I love the scalloped edge. They have excellent taste!
