But what if I told you it doesn’t take much effort to add a Summer vibe to your indoor and outdoor spaces?
8 Easy Summer Home Decor Ideas
Here are eight easy ideas to add summer decor to your home!
1) Decorate with Nature’s bounty
Display fruit, vegetables, or flowers in pretty containers, and it instantly becomes decor!
![Summer decor tip #1, display oranges in a wooden bowl.](https://anorganizedseason.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/IMG_0350-768x1024.jpg?v=1688241124)
Wooden bowls, cloches, cake plates, or tiered trays work perfectly in the kitchen!
![Summer decor tip #2, Display green apples in a glass cloche on a kitchen counter.](https://anorganizedseason.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/IMG_0292-768x1024.jpg?v=1688068037)
Extra tip: display your favorite cookbook on your kitchen counter if you have room!
2) Introduce pops of color
I love neutral decor.
However, in summer, I like to add a bit of color!
I don’t know about you, but yellow screams sunshine to me!
And cold lemonade is one of my favorite drinks of the season, so lemons seemed the perfect choice to add to this small cake plate!
![Summer decor tip #3, display lemons on a small wood cake plate on a kitchen counter.](https://anorganizedseason.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/IMG_0246-768x1024.jpg?v=1688068092)
You can’t tell in this picture, but the top of the wire cloche has a bee on it!
![Summer decor tip #4, display gold and gray kitchen towels with bees on oven and microwave doors.](https://anorganizedseason.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/IMG_0255-768x1024.jpg?v=1688068231)
So, when I spotted these yellow and gray towels at Hobby Lobby for 66% off, I knew I had to have them!
![Summer decor tip #5, Add sunflowers to a tired tray in a coffee bar.](https://anorganizedseason.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/IMG_0290-768x1024.jpg?v=1688068152)
Then, I added a few sunflowers to the tiered tray on my coffee bar!
They’re so bright and cheery!
3) Create a floral arrangement
Use flowers from your yard, the grocery store, or faux flowers and create a pretty arrangement!

I put ours on the kitchen island, but it would look great on a dining table, buffet, or console table!
4) Grow an indoor herb garden
I planted these herbs during spring, and I somehow managed to keep them alive!

They look pretty, smell great, and add flavor to home-cooked meals! You should give it a try!

You can also learn to paint and stencil French flower pots and make these adorable herb markers to display if you like!
5) Add topiaries
One of my favorite items to decorate with is topiaries.

I made two pretty topiaries from a grapevine wreath to decorate for spring.
During Summer, I removed the bunny and nest and moved them from the foyer to my TV console table.

Then, I placed these topiaries on the table in the foyer.

I added this olive topiary that I made last year to the living room.
6) Show off functional items in a pretty way
Have you thought about decorating with items you use regularly?
Here are a couple of examples.
![A wall clock above a coat rack that has a sun hat and a watering can hanging from it.](https://anorganizedseason.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/IMG_0278-768x1024.jpg?v=1688069040)
No need to hang jackets on our coat rack during summer in Florida.
Instead of it being empty, I hang our watering can and a sun hat!
Here’s another great example!

If you have wooden cutting boards, don’t hide them away.
Display them someplace in your kitchen.
7) Display shells
It’s summer, and that means spending time at the beach!
Rich enjoys collecting shells, and summer is the perfect time to display them.

They look pretty displayed in glass jars.

Or spread them out in a dough bowl!
8) Celebrate a summer holiday
