Hello! How are the temperatures in your neck of the woods?
When we lived in Kentucky and would visit Florida in the Winter we would always get a kick out of the locals wearing coats, hats, and gloves when the temps were 60 or below!

It made no sense to us!!
Now that we live here, we can relate!
We’re outside this morning, thrift shopping at the Antiques & Collectors Extravaganza!
Today the high temp is supposed to reach 57 degrees, so I will wear my winter coat, hat, and gloves, lol!
Just goes to show, that you should never judge someone until you’ve walked in their shoes!
What we’ve been up to this week
Day Trip to Merritt Island
Our youngest son is a bird watcher, and he wanted to go to Merritt Island to try and spot wild flamingos reported in the area.
The rain cleared out that morning, so off we went!
The flamingos were on the island in the top left corner of the photo above.
Can you see the patch of white on the beach, just left of the center of the island?
The white patch is a flock of pelicans and the flamingos are lying down behind them, so he wasn’t able to get a good picture.
We explored all around the National Wildlife Refuge, and below is one of the many beautiful shots he got!
This is the Roseate Spoonbill, and it was so interesting to watch it try to scoop up food in its bill!
If you love seeing pictures of birds, follow him on Instagram at allen_wildlife_photos!
Before we left, we hit the Canaveral National Seashore.
This is the first time we’ve gone to the beach on a cold day!
Our middle son is searching for birds with the binoculars, while H. lays in the sand to get the best shot!
Even though the weather was not great, we still had a fantastic time together!
Why We’re a Little Bit Sad This Week
We had such a fun visit but had to say goodbye to Harrison and send him back to school in New York!
This kid is a talker and our house is so quiet, now that he is gone.
It always makes us sad when family and friends leave, but we’re happy he’s living his dream!

Donna thanks so much for sharing. my chunky yarn wreath.
My grandparents lived in Florida and said the same thing if it was 50 degrees

Stunning photo! I wish I had the knack for photography like your son does Donna. I think you either have it or you don’t. My sister and I used to go on vacation together all of the time. We would stand side by side, take a photo of the same landscape, and hers were always 100% better than mine. I will check out his IG, because I love birds. I can imagine your home is quiet and I can see why you would be sad. Hope you have a wonderful Valentine’s Day!

Our son tried to teach me some photography skills over Christmas break, but I’m a slow learner, lol!! He took a photography class at college and has an amazing camera, which helps a lot! He would appreciate a follow on IG. Thanks and have a great day!!

It’s so sweet how you guys all support each others interest, Donna. I love that about your family! Roseate Spoonbills are one of my favorites too. When they’re out on the marsh they’re the prettiest shade of pink. I look for them all the time! Glad you guys got to spend so much time together and make so many fabulous memories before he left again. There’s nothing like family adventures! Big hugs, CoCo
