Prep
Before we can put the chargers together, we need to do a little prep work!
paint chargers
My chargers are pink, so before we can begin, I need to paint them.
These are disposable, cardboard chargers that I purchased a couple of years ago to use on Valentine’s day.
I applied one coat of brown paint to give them the illusion of being wood!
Cut twigs
At first, I was planning to use twigs from my yard to glue around the charger. Then, it occurred to me it would be easier to use grapevines because they are already circular!
I grabbed a grapevine wreath and cut it apart with my pruners.
Now we’re ready to make some chargers!
Steps to make twig and moss charger plates
Glue twigs to Charger
Lay one piece of vine on the charger and use the glue gun to adhere it. Do not touch the glue!
Add more vines, keeping them to the outside rim of the charger.
You may want to lay your plate on the charger to make sure it sits inside the twigs.
Don’t worry about the blobs of glue, it’s ok if you see them. We will cover them later with moss.
Attach one more layer of vines.
glue moss to charger
Take pieces of moss and glue them to the vines. Place the moss over any blobs of glue that you can see.
Put as much moss as you would like.
Doesn’t it look great?
You would never know it was a pink cardboard charger!!
add twig and moss chargers to your table
The work is done and now it’s time to have fun with the chargers!
Let’s get this table ready for guests!

What do you think of my twig and moss charger plates? I love the way they look, but I must confess, I’m not positive how I’m going to store them? I did not think that through before I made them. Do you have any suggestions for me?? Would you consider making them? Let me know in the comments below!
