Purchasing a new wreath each season can be expensive, so I make them myself to keep the cost down!
Want to see what I’ll be displaying at my house this summer?
This beautiful basket wreath only took a few minutes to make!
It’s so easy you have to try it!
Steps to make a lavender and eucalyptus wreath
With just a few steps you can decorate a door basket.
Simply fill them with your favorite flowers, then add a bow.
Let me show you how!
1) Gather Materials
Gather the following materials to make this basket wreath:
- Hanging basket
- Brown packing paper
- Eucalyptus
- Lavender
- Spanish moss
- Ribbon
- Scissors
2) Fill the basket with packing paper
Usually, I use plastic grocery store bags as filler inside baskets, but you would be able to see it through the holes in this particular basket.
Instead, I’m going to use brown packing paper.
It’s the perfect filler because it matches the basket, and you don’t notice it through the holes.
Stuff half of the basket with packing paper.
3) Add Eucalyptus
Place the eucalyptus branch into the basket.
Pull the branches apart and turn the leaves to face forward.
4) Add Lavender
Add a lavender stem to the basket in front of the eucalyptus.
The eucalyptus looks too short, so I added more packing paper to boost it up!
After getting the placement right, I added more packing paper to hold the stems.
5) Top with moss
To hide the packing paper add moss around the top of the basket.
6) Tie a ribbon on it
Last, but not least, tie a ribbon around the basket to add interest to the floral arrangement.
And you’re done!
Can you believe how fast and easy that is?
Now for the best part…
Finding a place to display it!
Display your lavender and eucalyptus wreath
1) FRONT DOOR
The most obvious choice for a seasonal basket wreath is to hang it on the front door!
It looks marvelous there but I can think of several other places where it might work as well!
2) Mirror
It looks lovely displayed on the front of a mirror!
3) Table
Just because it’s in a hanging basket doesn’t mean you have to hang it!
Why not display it sitting on a table?
4) STAIRCASE
If you have a staircase try hanging it from the banister!
5) China Cabinet
Dress up your dining room by hanging it from the knobs on a china cabinet.
So many choices! Where did you like it best?

Love it on the staircase Donna! I need to give this a try, my staircase is bare until Christmas rolls around, but this would be perfect to give a bit of something to a bland area. I use shopping bags to fill my baskets too! I chuckle every time we have similar thoughts.
