To add to the rejuvenation of our front entry way, we decided that the front door hardware had to be replaced. It no longer looked like gold or brass and was not making a good impression. In fact, not sure it was nice to even put your hand on to open the door.

I never thought much about how the entryway from the garage to the house looked until the boys were in high school and we started having parties that required extra seating in the garage. Our garage walls are painted which makes the entry space look a bit more finished but it still didn’t look very welcoming. So, this DIY is a long time coming and I’m just sorry I didn’t make the time to do it sooner!!!

We are beginning a new season of life many refer to as “The Empty Nest” however, we’ll be calling it the “Almost Empty Nest”! You see, our oldest son has graduated from college but has moved back home and is looking for a job (hence the reason we almost have an empty nest) and our two younger sons are attending out-of-state colleges, so we are free to do as we please! No more scheduling our lives around all of their activities! Don’t get me wrong, we loved that season of life and made so many new, wonderful friends and made lots of great memories but we are really excited to see what this next season brings!! Because we have more time on our hands, we decided to start this blog! We hope you feel at home here and can’t wait to get to know you better!
