my inspiration
I was Christmas shopping in Hobby Lobby and saw these gorgeous Sola Wood flowers!
It was love at first sight, I knew I had to have them!
I had no idea what to do with them, but into my cart, they went!
I felt a little bit guilty, after all, I was supposed to be Christmas shopping for other people!
However, they were 50% off, so I knew it was meant to be!
I looked across the aisle, and the colors of a gorgeous woven wicker wreath caught my eye!
It would look so amazing with those flowers!
Unfortunately, it was not marked down, so I decided to wait to buy it.
You all know I’m all about decorating on a budget, so I went back the next week, but it was still full price. I told myself it wasn’t a wasted trip, it was a field trip to gain decor inspiration!
I tried again the following week (like I needed an excuse to go to Hobby Lobby), but still no luck.
The next week, I finally asked a store associate, and she told me that items marked “floral accents” never go on sale!
Have I ever told you how much I miss that 40% off Hobby Lobby coupon??
Well, I miss it a lot!
Anyway, something told me I needed that wreath, even though I had no idea where, or when, I would use it.
So, I bought it!
Fast forward to March…
It’s time to put my Winter decor away and start decorating for Spring.
I moved this dried flower arrangement from my bathroom to the eat-in kitchen.
I thought it would match the shelf and mirror.
And then it hit me!
I remembered the colors of the sola wood flowers and wicker wreath!
They would match perfectly with the dried arrangement!
Time to DIY!
Let’s put these two things together and see what happens!
Gather
Gather the following items to make this project:
- Wreath-purchased at Hobby Lobby
- Sola wood flowers-purchased at Hobby Lobby
- Pruning shears
- Hot glue gun
- Glue sticks
Prep
Protect your work surface. I put down craft paper.
Plug in your glue gun.
Steps to create a wood flower wreath
1. Cut the stems off the flowers.
2. Put hot glue on the back of the flower. Do not touch the hot glue, it will burn you!
3. Adhere the flower to the wreath.
4. Repeat steps with the other flowers.
And now you’re done!! It took all of 10 minutes!
Wow! Do you think it looks as amazing as I do?
I’m so excited to hang it on my mirror!
hang your wood flower wreath
I used a suction cup hanger! They are so wonderful and perfect for hanging wreaths on windows or mirrors!
Can you believe how easy and fast it was to create this beautiful wood flower wreath??
I still can’t believe how well it coordinates with the dried flower arrangement!
I think this is the easiest, but most gorgeous DIY I have ever done!
Let me know if you agree in the comments below!
Also, tell me I’m not the only person who buys things for themselves when they’re supposed to be shopping for others, lol!!!
