I love to come up with fun and different ways to decorate a table!
Do you think decorating is fun or does it stress you out?
If you’re in the stressed-out camp, then I’m here for you!
No more worries because I have seven steps that make decorating a table simple!
And if the nature-inspired look is not for you, that’s ok!
You can use my steps to come up with a completely different theme and color scheme for your Easter table!
Let’s have some fun and start decorating our Easter table!
How to Create an Easter Tablescape
1) Find your inspiration
The first thing you need to do is find an inspiration piece for the table!
Always shop your house to see what you can find, before buying something new!
These adorable moss bunnies and spheres were in my spring decor box!
I thought they would look fabulous in a centerpiece!
When I look at them, my mind immediately goes to nature!
I see a carpet of green moss spread out across the ground, surrounded by tall trees with trunks of varying colors of brown.
When I look up, I see branches covered in green leaves and wisps of white clouds peeking through them.
And there’s my inspiration to create a nature-inspired Easter tablescape! I’ll incorporate moss, branches/vines, weathered metal, and wood items.
2) Choose your color scheme
Since I chose a nature-inspired theme, I won’t be using traditional pastel Easter colors.
Instead, I’m going with green, brown, and white!
Here are the colors I chose!
I made decoupage Easter eggs from each piece of paper you see above!
Aren’t those bee napkins the most adorable thing you’ve ever seen?
3) Create a Centerpiece
This is the first year we will not be hosting any of our extended family on Easter.
Hold on while I shed a few tears!
Anyway, I decided to go big with the centerpiece, since I don’t have to worry about people being able to see the person across from them.
I searched the house for wood pieces I could pair with the bunnies!
The white metal pieces are worn and weathered and go perfectly with my nature-inspired theme!
4) Add interest with placemats and chargers
Placemats and chargers are not a necessity, but they add a great deal of interest to the look of the table!
If you prefer to use a tablecloth, place it on the table now.
I pulled out my woven placemats, but I don’t have any chargers that remind me of nature!
Time for a DIY project!
I made the chargers from a grapevine wreath and moss! See the DIY here!
5) Choose your place setting
Now it’s time to choose your place setting! You’ll need dishes, glassware, eating utensils, and napkins.
Think about your color scheme and theme, then pick accordingly!
dishes
Simple white dishes are perfect for this table!
Napkins & utensils
I wanted to use the paper napkins with the bees on them, but I did not like them as much as the plain white cloth napkins.
I placed the eating utensils inside the napkin and wrapped them up.
The napkin holders are tiny wreaths I purchased at Hobby Lobby.
glassware
I chose a very plain and simple glass to finish the place setting!
6) Embellish the table
At this point, your table has everything that it needs to serve dinner guests.
But, who wants to stop there when you could add some WOW factor with a few embellishments!
Vintage springs
I found these vintage bed springs when we went to Renningers Antique and Collector’s Extravaganza in February. The rusty finish goes perfectly with the other vintage pieces and is perfect for holding different sizes of moss spheres.
Twigs, spanish moss, & eggs
I laid thick pieces of a grapevine wreath, Spanish moss, decoupage eggs, and a moss sphere on the table.
7) DECORATE THE PLATEs
Decorating your plates is like “adding the cherry on top!”
It takes your table from ordinary to extraordinary!
I used nests and eggs to top my plates!
I only had two tiny nests. So, I used the leftover mini wreaths for the other two plates!
Well, friends, see how easy it is to create a beautiful nature-inspired Easter tablescape!
I hope you have as much fun decorating your table as I had decorating mine!
Now, let’s take a look at my finished table!
