What is Teddy Bear Yarn?
I was so excited to find this bulky yarn that has a plush texture and looks like Teddy Bear fur. The brand I bought is called Yarn Bee Truly Teddy.
Not only is it beautiful, it feels super soft, like a snuggly Teddy Bear!
It comes in several different colors, but this gorgeous blush is my favorite!
Ok enough about the yarn! Come on my friend, let’s craft!
Gather
Surprise! You only need four items for this project!
Did I mention how easy it is to make?
It’s almost too good to be true!
Gather the items listed below before you start the project!
- Heart-shaped wreath form-I purchased mine at Hobby Lobby (they’re cheaper at Dollar Tree, but my stores were sold out)
- Truly Teddy yarn in Blush-I purchased mine at Hobby Lobby
- Ruler
- Scissors
prep
Cut the yarn into five inch strips.
I used approximately 3/4 of the ball of yarn.
make a teddy bear yarn Valentine’s Heart
Tie yarn to outer ring
We will begin the project by tying loops of yarn around the outer ring of the heart form.
Oh, wait…
You might want to start binge-watching your favorite show about now, this is going to take a while!
Fold the piece of yarn in half.
Place it under the wreath form then, pull the two ends between the outer and middle rings.
Next, pull the two ends of the yarn up through the loop and pull it as tight as you can.
Continue the process of tying strips around the outer ring.
Can you believe how easy this is? One row down, two to go!!
Tie yarn to middle ring
Repeat the steps listed above and tie the strips of yarn around the middle ring.
Look how fluffy it’s getting! This wreath is going to be amazing!
Tie yarn to inner ring
Let’s do it one more time! Repeat the steps and tie the remaining strips of yarn around the inner ring.
I know, that was a lot of looping and tying, but don’t you think it was worth it??
I hope you feel inspired to make this Valentine’s heart Teddy Bear yarn craft! Let me know in the comments below!
Blessings, Donna and Rich
