But have you ever heard of Galentine’s Day?
It’s not an official holiday, but more and more people celebrate it each year!
Here are the details for those who may not be familiar with the term!
What is Galentine’s Day?
Believe it or not, Galentine’s Day was started by a fictional character on a TV show!
Leslie Knope, played by Amy Poehler on Parks and Recreation, started it all!
She gathered a group of her best girlfriends for a yummy brunch, showered them with love and attention, and a new trend was born!
So write a list of your best girlfriends, and invite them over to celebrate your friendship!
When is Galentine’s Day?
Leslie Knope and her friends celebrate on February 13th!
But since it’s not an official holiday, I say do it any day you want!
If Valentine’s Day falls on a weekday, you might want to celebrate the weekend before!
Ideas to help you celebrate Galentine’s Day
Since this celebration does not have centuries worth of traditions, there are no rules you have to follow!
You can celebrate however you like!
Here are some suggestions:
- Host a brunch
- Have a flower-arranging party
- Plan a fondue night
- Organize a favorite product swap
- Host an at-home mani-pedi or facial night
- Have a bake-off
- Attend a paint-and-sip night
- Plan a wine swap
- Attend or host a movie night
- Organize a game night
Tips for hosting Galentine’s Day at your house
If you invite your best gal pals to your place, I have some tips to help you prepare!
First, let’s set a festive table!
Simple Ideas to set the table for Galentine’s Day
Start with the centerpiece!
I started with a rustic tray and filled it with an evergreen and eucalyptus garland.
Then, I layered another Christmas garland with pink and cream pom-poms over it.
Next, I tucked in four pillar candles and added the heart topiary!

Add color with an inexpensive charger!
These pink chargers are cardboard and were very inexpensive!
You can also purchase cheap chargers from Dollar Tree and paint them to match your decor!
Layer your napkins!
Who says your napkins have to be on the side of the plate?
Layer them over your charger instead!
Choose your dishes!
I decided to use white dinner and salad plates.
Look closely, and you’ll notice the dinner plates are two different patterns.
Bring out the crystal!
I enjoy using the crystal we got when we were married on special occasions!
Tie utensils with a bow!
Add a special touch to the table by tying your utensils with velvet ribbon!
Don’t forget the flowers!
I added two small arrangements of white roses on each end of the table!
Create a favor for your guests!
Here are the cute Valentine’s hearts I made a couple of weeks ago!
You can use them to decorate, but I think they would make a wonderful gift for your besties!
You can even add their name to personalize the heart!

Add seasonal decor to the dining Room
The table looks beautiful, but let’s add a few more pink and white touches to the dining room!
Hang a wreath
First, I hung this pom-pom wreath on the mirror in my dining room!
Next, I hung my Teddy Bear yarn heart on the coat rack!
Decorate a bar cart
Then, I turned my attention to the bar cart and draped a white heart garland over it.
And added a “love” sign, a rose topiary, and crystal candlesticks!
Embellish the china cabinet
The final touch was to add a bit of bling!!
I hung four heart Christmas ornaments from the knobs on my china cabinet!
And my dining room is decorated!!
I hope you enjoyed all my simple ideas to set a Galentine’s Day table!
