But first, we want you to know that our hearts and prayers go out to all those affected by the devastation of Hurricane Helene.
May those impacted find strength, comfort, and support as they navigate the aftermath of this storm.
We want to thank the brave first responders and volunteers working tirelessly to provide aid and relief.
Let’s all help in any way we can, whether financially or prayerfully!
We’re so thankful for each of you and happy that you could spend a few minutes of your day with us!
Now let’s take a moment to revisit the highlights that defined the month.
WHAT WE DID BEHIND THE SCENES IN September
During September we spent most of our time working on our bedroom makeover, and when we did have a break, we were too tired to go out, lol.
Unfortunately, my plantar fasciitis is acting up and hindering exercise and walking!
Even so, we managed to get to the parks twice for dinner and some fun!
Epcot food and wine festival
It’s that time of year and many of you know we love going to the Food and Wine Festival!
Since I eat gluten and dairy-free I am limited on what I can try.
Thankfully they have a menu for those with food allergies or sensitivities that you can see here.
We went to Brew Wings Lab, I had the Peanut Butter and Jelly Sticky Wings!
They were really sticky and since I’m a fan of PB&J, I liked the flavor.
Rich enjoyed the Fried Pickle Spears with Dill Ranch.
Normally we enjoy walking around the park and exercising, but we took advantage of the boat because of my foot!
EPCOT also provides fabulous entertainment!
We watched a belly dancer perform near the Morocco Pavilion.
And caught the end of the Sheila E. concert at the American Gardens Theatre.
Hollywood Studios for Fried Chicken
I know most people go to Hollywood Studios for the thrilling rides and wonderfully entertaining shows, but Rich and I go for the fried chicken!
I rarely eat fried food, but every once in a while, I crave fried chicken and we found a tasty GF/DF option!
So a couple of times a year, we make a reservation at the 50’s Prime Time Cafe so I can indulge in this wonderful meal!
I ate all three pieces of that chicken, and most of the green beans, and smashed fingerling potatoes!
It was so good!
We did enjoy a few rides and ended our evening watching our favorite nighttime show, Fantasmic!
New glasses
Several months ago, I noticed a change in my eyesight and knew I needed new glasses.
I was interested in getting clear frames like Rich has, or something trendy and different.
After trying on tons of frames, this is what I chose.
They’re almost the same shape as before but a darker version!
So much for being different.
Maybe next time I’ll be more brave, lol!!
What We Did On The Blog In September
The big news is we finally finished our bedroom makeover! Woo Hoo!
All that wood molding, caulking, filling nail holes, painting accessories, and painting a dark color on all the walls and trim took longer than anticipated.
But it’s done and we are thrilled with the result!
