The second half of the year always goes by so fast, we’ll blink and it will be time to prepare for the holiday season!
Will anyone be watching Christmas in July movies on the Hallmark channel?
Before you reach for the remote control, join us as we reflect on the memorable moments we experienced during June!
WHAT WE DID BEHIND THE SCENES IN June
Celebrated Griffin’s Birthday
Speaking of time flying by, I can’t believe our middle son turned 25 in June!
When we asked him how he wanted to celebrate, he said he wanted to see the movie Inside Out 2.
It’s a cute and fun movie, we all enjoyed it!
First Summer Yard sale
You all know I love going to thrift stores to find unique treasures but in the summer, we look forward to the yard sales at Renningers in Mount Dora.
Here are the items I picked up in June!
A gorgeous bust statue, a soup tureen with an underplate, and two milk glass bowls.
We’ll miss the July yard sale this year but will hit it again in August!
Celebrated Father’s Day
Rich and I are Disney pass holders and we had the opportunity to go to The Magic Kingdom for the pass holder preview of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure (formerly known as Splash Mountain.)
It just happened to be Father’s Day so he wore a shirt our oldest son gave him for Christmas.
The shirt has Goofy (Rich’s favorite character) on it and it says #1 Dad!
It was a fun way to celebrate Rich and the fact that he’s a wonderful Dad!
Enjoyed Family and friends
We love it when family and friends travel to Florida and we get to spend time with them!
In June, Rich’s sister and some of her crew came to Florida for a beach vacation and we visited with them one afternoon.
Later in the month our oldest son Evan and his best friend from Kindergarten, Ryan, came down to attend an anime convention.
They stayed with us and we enjoyed their company so much!
One night, we went to Disney Springs for dinner, shopping, and dessert!
While there, we hit the Coco Cola Rooftop Beverage Bar so Ryan could try the Around The World Tray!
It has 16 different Coco Cola beverages from various countries, some taste great and others not so much!
It’s fun to see how people react to the tastes!
Then, we watched the Disney Dreams That Soar drone show!
It’s so fun to see the lights turn into different shapes before your eyes!
On another day we went to Oakland Nature Preserve to see if we could spot any alligators!
We saw three small gators and some gigantic grasshoppers!
Evan is holding his hand up a few feet behind this one so you can get an idea of how big they are!

What a fun month for you guys. How was the new ride? Splash mountain was my sons favorite ride and we were so sad when they said they were going to change it but I’ve heard good things about the new one. Living in California we always go to Disneyland Also I didn’t realize there was a world of Coke in FL. We’ve gone to the one in Atlanta with the museum and yes, some flavors are super different. Anyway love all your thrifty finds and can’t wait to see them in action. XO- MaryJo
Donna Allen says
Hey MaryJo! The ride was fine, we wish they would have stuck closer to the theme of the movie instead of focusing on Tiana’s restaurant after the movie but the ride itself is the same and still super fun! Thanks for stopping by and have a great week!
Rachel @ The Antiqued Journey says
You guys have been busy!! Such fun things!
Donna Allen says
Yes, it’s been so busy but we’re enjoying every minute of it! Just can’t believe how fast summer is flying by! Hope you have a wonderful week!

What a busy month it has been for you Donna! I am infatuated with your yard sale finds! You scored big time, especially with that bust. I haven’t; been to Disney World in many years, but I always enjoy what you share from your visits. So much has changed since I was there, that is for sure. Maybe one of these days I will get down that way again. Enjoy the rest of your summer.
Donna Allen says
Hi Cara! We had so much fun at the yard sale! Can’t wait for the one in August! If you ever come to Disney let us know! We’d love to meet you in person!
