We’re switching things up and sending our weekly newsletter on Saturday instead of Friday!
We hope you’re having a great day and are enjoying Fall as much as we are!
Here’s what we’ve been doing!
What we’ve been up to this week
Food and Wine Festival
The weather has been perfect for spending time outdoors, so we decided to head back to EPCOT and try a few of our favorite food booths at the Food and Wine Festival!
The festival starts in July, and it’s so hot here in the summer that some of the foods aren’t enjoyable.
Who wants hot soup when the temperature feels like it’s over 100 degrees, lol!
So, we have learned to wait until the weather cools down to hit some of our favorite booths.
We always look forward to the Canada booth because they serve the best Cheddar and bacon soup with a pretzel roll!
They also have a yummy filet mignon served with mushrooms, Boursin black truffle & sea salt mashed potatoes, and a Boursin black truffle & sea salt whipped butter.
We were bummed because the filet was a bit tough this year.
Usually, it’s cooked to perfection and makes it onto our “best of the fest” list!
Fortunately, the soup was just as yummy as we remembered!
During this visit, our “best of the fest” award went to the Mexico booth!
The dish on top is the tostada de carnitas with braised pork on a fried corn tortilla with black beans, avocado mousse, queso fresco, and chives!
The bottom dish is the taco de Costilla with slow-braised beef short rib on a corn tortilla with salsa de chile Morita, avocado mousse, and spring onions!
We weren’t expecting to like these so much, so this was a welcome surprise!
It was a lovely day to walk around the World Showcase!
And we tasted so many yummy foods!
Preparing for Guests
The rest of the week was all about work and cleaning our house in preparation for more company!
My cousin and her hubby are flying in today and staying with us until Friday!
We have lots of fun planned and look forward to sharing quality family time!
We can’t wait to share our adventures with you next Saturday!
