Today, we are sharing simple ways to add Christmas decor to your porch so the outside looks as fabulous as the inside!
We’re not talking about all-out “Christmas Vacation” decor!
These are simple things anyone can do!
Consider adding one or more of these ideas to your porch this year!
9 Simple Christmas Porch Decor Ideas
1) Find Your Inspiration
Decide on a theme or color scheme you would like to use on your front porch!
I got the rug above for free using Kohl’s cash!
It inspired me to use snowflakes and incorporate a red, white, and black color scheme.
There’s no chance we’ll have a white Christmas, so we’ll add a bit of snow to our porch with decor!
2) Hang a wreath
We hang this wreath on our front door every year at Christmas, but decorate it differently!
This year, we added a white snowflake to the center of the wreath and embellished it with inexpensive ornaments.
Take three shatterproof ornaments and secure them together with a piece of floral wire.
Use the wire to attach the cluster of ornaments around the wreath.
Then, tuck in plastic snowflakes to fill the open areas.
3) Wrap garland around doors and windows
A fun way to add decor to your porch is to use garland to frame your door and windows.
You can leave it plain or embellish it.
We added lights and large snowflakes to the top corners.
Next, we placed inexpensive plastic snowflakes all along the garland.
4) Add height to each side of the door
To add interest, we made simple topiaries with a lighted evergreen garland.
Then, we wrapped two snowball garlands around each one and topped it off with a large wood snowflake.
Check out this post to see how we made these snowflakes a few years ago.
5) Wrap Faux Gifts
Since we added lights to the topiaries, we could see the cords.
So we decided to wrap some faux gifts to hide them.
We put hand weights inside the boxes so they can’t blow away!
6) Layer rugs
Add a larger rug under your doormat to frame it and make it appear bigger.
I love this look!
7) Make a comfy sitting area
Add at least one place to sit so you can enjoy the outdoors.
Make it comfy by adding throw pillows!
8) Adorn with Accessories
Add accessories to a table to make the area feel cozy!
We brought out a lantern with a red and white striped pillar candle, then added a bow with snowflakes and red and white stripes.
9) Don’t forget the lights
Last but not least, light up the night with Christmas lights on the porch!
In Conclusion
We had so much fun decorating our porch for Christmas, and now there’s only one thing missing!

Your porch looks so inviting Donna, makes me want to walk right up and say hello, or Merry Christmas! I love how your wreath turned out, it is so darling, and the snowflake in the center really brings on the charm.

These are such adorable ideas! I have a wreath and a porch pot on my porch, but my dogs seem to destroy any type of decoration I try to put outside. Thank you for visiting Tell It To Me Tuesday, I hope you join again this week.
