Can you believe that half of the year is gone?
It just doesn’t seem possible!
We’ve been having so much fun it feels like the week flies by!!

What we’ve been up to this week
Family Visit
Rich’s sister, her husband, youngest son, and oldest granddaughter stayed with us overnight on their way home from a beach vacation!
We met them at Disney Springs and had lunch at our favorite counter-service restaurant, The Polite Pig!
We took them there last April, and they liked it so much they wanted to go again!
We ordered the Butcher Board, which includes pulled pork, smoked chicken, prime brisket, & smoked turkey with slaw, pickles, two pieces of cornbread, and a choice of 2 market sides.
We chose the crispy Brussels sprouts (one of my favorite side dishes ever) and the sweet potato tots!
It’s the best “fast food” you’ll ever eat!!
Then we did some shopping and went to our house for pool time!
It was a great visit, but we always wish they could stay longer!
Later in the week, we met my oldest son’s best friend and his family for dinner.
They were vacationing at Universal Theme Park!
Unfortunately, I forgot to take pictures!
Last stroll through the Flower and Garden Festival
Rich and I went to EPCOT and took our final walk around The Flower and Garden Festival.
It’s our favorite festival, and we are sad it will close on July 5th!
We went back to eat at our favorite food booths we discovered this year!
First up is the Farmers Feast!
We had the barbecued seared pork tenderloin with summer succotash, herb butter, and grapefruit vinaigrette (gluten/wheat-friendly).
And sweet corn crème brûlée with corn biscotti.
Next was The Honey Bee-stro. We got all three food items on the menu!
Chicken and Waffle: Crispy Honey-brined Chicken and Honey Sweet Corn Bread Waffle with Whipped Honey Butter and Spicy Honey.
Pollinator Flatbread with Honey Whipped Mascarpone, Honey Caramelized Onions, Blueberry Gastrique, Prosciutto, Honey Whipped Goat Cheese, Arugula, Honey Vinaigrette, and Bee Pollen.
Honey-Mascarpone Cheesecake with Honey Whipped Cream, Whipped Honey, Crystalized Honey, Honeycomb, Dehydrated Honey, and Fennel Pollen Meringue Kisses.
We love walking around this park and looking at the gorgeous flowers and topiaries!
We will miss seeing the floating flower pots, and the bright blooms in this section.
When we go back next time, they will be gone!

Why is the flower festival closing? Growing up, we would go to Disney and Epcot every other year, we always loved seeing the new adventures it held from one visit to the next. I haven’t been down in many years now, but I have many fond memories!
