The weeks go by so fast, and guess what…
Summer is officially here!
What we’ve been up to this week
It’s been a very dreary and rainy week here in Florida!
Not so good for the tourists, but great for locals since we had drought conditions during Spring.
Our yard still has not recovered!
Hopefully, the summer thunderstorms will turn that around!
Father’s Day
We didn’t let the rain keep us from celebrating two very special occasions!
We grabbed our rain ponchos and headed to Disney Springs for brunch at Chef Art Smith’s Homecoming Restaurant.
Rich chose the Hallelujah Biscuit!
It’s an open-faced biscuit topped with fried chicken, two over-easy eggs, pimento cheese, pecan-smoked bacon, and sawmill gravy with a side of grits!
A great plate of food for a great Dad!!
Griffin’s Birthday
We were also celebrating our son Griffin’s 24th birthday!
One of his favorite foods is deviled eggs, so he chose that as our appetizer!
Then he had fried chicken, french fries, and green beans!
His birthday celebration continued later in the week, and we went to see Disney’s Elemental!
The movie opened to small crowds, but our theater was packed, and everyone applauded when it was over.
It won’t go on our list of best Pixar movies, but we enjoyed it.
What we’ve been up to on the blog
If you missed any of our posts this week, now’s your time to catch up!
DIY
We purchased overhead storage racks for our garage, and Rich saved us a ton of money by installing them himself!
To see how he did it, click here!
Organize
The arrival of a new season brings our Summer Home Organization Challenge!
We’ll be focused on organizing our Personal Living Zone, which consists of our bedrooms, bathrooms, and closets!
You can organize the same things we do or set different goals!
Get all the details here!

CoCo says
What a fun way to celebrate Griffin’s birthday and Father’s Day, Donna! I love that they each got to enjoy their favorites – it looks delicious. The rain has been no joke in Florida lately. I swear it feels like it’s been 2 weeks straight. There are mushrooms growing all over our yard ha ha. I’ll take the rain over hurricane prep any day of the week though! Hope your weekend is a fun one and thanks so much for hosting. These features are all fabulous, CoCo
Donna Allen says
Hey, CoCo! The past two summers I felt like a mushroom farmer, but it’s so dry here we have not had one mushroom in our yard yet! We really need another week of rain but it doesn’t look like we’re going to get much this week! Thanks for coming to the party! Have a blessed week!
Kim says
