First, because I don’t have money allocated in the budget for it, and second, I have limited storage space!
So, what’s a girl to do?
Well, this girl put her thinking cap on and came up with a way to make the porch look great without buying new decor!
Except for real pumpkins and mums!
Those are must-have Autumn purchases in my mind!
But you can purchase those without breaking the bank too!

Prepare for an amazing Fall Porch
Ok friends, first things first!
If your porch is as messy as mine, then the first step to an amazing front porch is to clean it up!
Sweep away the dried-up flower petals, leaves, and dirt from Summer!
Clean your furniture!
The peeling paint on the chair had to go!
Rich power washed it, but decided to leave a little bit of paint on there for a rustic look lol!!!
Once your porch is clean, start decorating!
7 Budget Decorating Ideas for your fall porch
My best budget tip for fall decorating is to use what you already have!
You can completely change the look of an item with paint.
1) Reuse a Fall rug
Purchase a Fall rug from a discount store and use it every other year!
I bought this rug several years ago from the store Tuesday Morning and it’s still in great shape!
I did not use it last year, so I pulled it out for this year!
I’m using it as the inspiration for the rest of the porch!
2) Spruce up an old wreath
I purchased this wreath many years ago from Walmart.
It was so cheap that I didn’t think it would last through the season.
To my surprise, it held up great!
So this year, it got a little makeover!
I added white hydrangea and painted the pumpkins to match the colors of the rug!
3) Make something with faux pumpkins
If you have faux pumpkins at home, make a display with them!
Paint them a different color for a whole new look!
I’m a bit obsessed with pumpkins and I usually buy a few new faux ones each year.
So, far this season, I have not bought one yet!
Instead, I decided to make a pumpkin obelisk (or two) with the ones I already have.
Here’s the DIY info on how to make these amazing pumpkin obelisks!

4) Bring pillows and a throw outside
Cozy up your porch with pillows and a throw blanket!
If your porch is not protected from the elements, you’ll want to take them inside when you’re not using them.
5) Light up your porch
Bring a lantern with a candle, or a vase with a strand of lights, outside!
It will provide light and add decor at the same time!
I just added some fall leaves to a lantern I was using on the back porch!
6) Purchase mums from Costco
Ok, so it might be too late for you to act on this tip this year! So be sure to make a note on your calendar for next year! You’ll be glad you did!
Did you know Costco sells huge mums for the same price as a regular-size one elsewhere?
We got these huge mums for $13.99 a piece!
Most of the mums in stores here are half the size and cost $12.99.
They usually start selling them in the last week of August.
If you don’t have a Costco membership, ask a friend or family member to buy them for you!
7) Purchase pumpkins gradually
When the pumpkins appear in your grocery store, purchase one each week until your porch is decorated!
That way, you won’t bust your weekly budget on pumpkins!!

Thank you CoCo! I was so happy with how it turned out! Unfortunately, it has all been moved to the garage with hurricane Ian approaching! Hopefully, I’ll be able to put it all back together in a few days! Stay safe!
