Christmas Dining Room Tour
Our theme for the room is “Tis’ the season to sparkle.”
I wish I could tell you I came up with that all on my own but,
the phrase from this cute sign I attached to our bar cart!
I have to confess I love it when Christmas decor sparkles,
but with sparkle comes glitter,
and with glitter comes a big mess!
Every year I tell myself I will not buy another piece of Christmas decor with glitter!
And guess what, every year I buy something new covered in gorgeous sparkly stuff!
This year was no exception, I bought this amazing eucalyptus garland covered in pink glitter and tiny sequins.
Not only do I buy things with glitter, but I make things with it as well!
The paper mache houses in my china cabinet have roofs covered in gold glitter! To see the DIY click here and for tips on how I styled the houses click here!
You’d think I would have learned my lesson by now!
You’d think after having my clothes covered in glitter,
finding glitter in my hair two days after I decorated the room,
or still vacuuming up glitter in February,
I would have figured it out by now.
But no, there’s just something about that sparkle that pulls me in and makes me forget about the mess!
Maybe it’s because I live in a house with all boys, excuse me, men.
Oh yes, speaking of men, look what Rich made for this tree!
This amazing tree collar box!
Isn’t it grand! I love it!
I wish we could show you how he made it, but he was in such a hurry, he forgot to take pictures.
So no DIY post this time! Sorry!!
Anyway, back to my love of pink and all things sparkly!
What I was going to say was, after living in a house for 28 years with all men, I like to sneak in a little pink in my decor when I can!
So here’s to our pink Christmas dining room, with a smidge of glam, and a trail of glitter!
tis’ the season to sparkle
Do I have any regrets?
Absolutely not!
In fact, as I stood in the checkout lane at Hobby Lobby, watching pink glitter fly into the air as the nice lady carefully placed my new garland in a bag, I smiled!
Sure glitter makes a mess,
but I think it’s worth it!
Blessings, Donna and Rich

Donna I had to laugh about the glitter. Our dogs had it this year. How about when it’s on your face? I wash my face and it’s still there.
The dining room is so pretty and the tree box is beautiful!!

You’re right Cindy, it gets on my face too and it’s so hard to get every speck cleaned up!! But as I said, I think it’s worth it! Blessings, Donna

I love glitz and glamour, but how we could figure out how to get rid of glitter everywhere.
Donna Allen says
I know, it’s a struggle! I wish it cleaned up easier! Maybe it needs to be glued with super glue so it can’t come off!!
