Well, I do!
It’s so much fun to take a boring box and turn it into something amazing!
You know, it’s like a mini before-and-after project!
Or a fabulous makeover, but instead of hair color and make-up, it gets wrapped up in beautiful paper with a bow!
And the best part is, it’s easy!
Let me show you how!
Get organized
The first step to make gift wrapping easier is to organize your supplies in the same place!
Here are some great tips to help you do that!
Set up a wrapping station
Use a desk or set up a card table someplace in your house!
Your dog will love it, lol!!
I wrote a whole post on how to organize a wrapping station if you want more details!
hold gift wrap in a laundry hamper
Wrapping paper fits perfectly in a tall laundry hamper.
When I finish wrapping all my Christmas gifts, I take the paper out and store it in a long plastic bin that rolls under my bed!
Keep your ribbon organized
I keep my ribbon in clear plastic containers so I can see what I have!
When I’m not using my ribbon I store it in a picnic basket!
I never throw away good ribbons!
You can see all the recycled ones I have rolled up and saved in the zip lock bag in the front right corner.
Use a desk organizer
If you have a desk organizer use it to store your pens, tape, gift tags, and scissors. Soon I’ll buy my Christmas stamps and I’ll keep those here too!
If you don’t have an organizer use a shoe box or a plastic bin.
Use rubber bands to secure ribbons and rolls of paper
This is the best tip ever!!
Keep your wrapping paper and ribbon from unrolling, and making a mess, by securing them with a rubber band!
tips to make gift wrapping easier on your budget
Use plain white paper
Instead of buying a Christmas gift wrap, purchase white wrapping paper.
Add bows that coordinate with your Christmas decor and you’ll get a high-end look for just a few dollars!
Use recycled ribbon to save even more money!
Wrap with craft paper
Craft paper is a very cost-effective way to wrap gifts, not just at Christmas, but any time of the year!
This brown paper is so versatile, and since it’s neutral, you can add any color ribbon and it will look great!
Use yarn or twine instead of ribbon
You can make fun designs on packages with yarn and jute twine!
You can purchase both someplace like Dollar Tree and it will be much cheaper than ribbon!
This is a great option for gifts that need to be shipped since you don’t have to worry about bows getting squashed!!
put small gifts in toilet paper tubes
If you want a fun way to wrap a gift of money or something small, toilet paper rolls are a great option!
So easy to wrap, just tie the ends with ribbon!
Purchase gift wrap after Christmas
If you love holiday gift wrap and have adequate storage space, buy it at a discounted price after Christmas!
Easy tips to Make gifts look fabulous
I’m so excited to share these easy gift-wrapping tips to make your presents look fabulous!
Make shapes from sheet music
If you decided to use brown craft paper to wrap your gifts this year, here’s an easy and inexpensive way to embellish them and take the look up a notch!
I have several of my Grandmother’s songbooks and pulled out a few pages that have Christmas songs on them.
If you don’t have sheet music laying around you can use scrapbook paper or an old newspaper!
I used my Cricut to cut them out, but you could use stencils or trace with a cookie cutter and cut them out by hand.
Chalkboard name tags
Instead of sticking a paper nametag on your gifts, use a mini chalkboard glued on a clothespin.
Just clip it on your ribbon and instant upgrade!
get creative with stickers
I used my Cricut cutting machine to make these adorable snowflake stickers, then I cut out the letters for the boys’ names.
If you don’t have a Cricut, you can purchase white sticker letters, and cut out white snowflakes the old-fashioned way.
You know, how we used to do in elementary school by folding a piece of paper and cutting the corners off!
Recycle old Christmas cards
Don’t these packages look amazing!
I chose two of the Christmas cards we received last year, cut the front off, and glued them to a package!
It doesn’t get easier than this!
This is an excellent idea for packages that will be shipped to out-of-town relatives!
use wired ribbon to make bows
The best way to make a gift look fabulous is to add a big beautiful bow on top!
The easiest way to make a bow is with a wired ribbon!
There are tons of tutorials on YouTube if you need some help with that!
embellish with inexpensive ornaments
Want to add a little “extra” to your gift?
Tuck in an inexpensive ornament to add a little sparkle!
Faux floral picks
Make packages look extra special with faux floral, evergreen, or berry picks.
Can you tell I love to wrap presents?
It brings me so much joy!
Some of mine are so cute, I might shed a tear when they get ripped open!

Great post Donna. Truth, I’m a terrible wrapper. Wrapping paper and I don’t get along. I use beautiful gift bags for our gits with special tissue paper. I love embellishing the gift bags. I’m bd because I wait until the end to wrap. Pinned!
My sister-in-law loves to wrap and she’s awesome at it. I think you are either good at it or not and I’m definitely a NOT

Great tips Donna! Love the toilet paper roll idea.

Thanks, Wendy! It’s a fun and different way to wrap small gifts, and my favorite thing to put inside is money!!
Shelbee on the Edge says
I love these gift wrapping ideas! In particular the use of brown or white craft paper. It creates the best canvas to make your gift wrapping a work of art! I have gotten lazy with my grift wrapping though especially for my children. They just rip the paper off without appreciating the beauty of the wrapped package! I hope you have a blessed holiday season! (I hopped over from Crafty Creators, btw.)

Hi Shelbee! So nice of you to stop by! Glad you enjoyed the post! I remember those days when my kids were small! I would just stick a pre-made bow (or none at all) on their gifts and be done! You’ll blink, and they’ll be grown! When they’re older you can get back into creative wrapping ideas! Enjoy this season of life, and have a very merry Christmas!! Blessings, Donna
