We are fortunate to have a guest bedroom and bathroom.
Each time someone stays with us, I learn something new about how to meet our guests’ needs.
Here is a list of the essential items you need to help guests feel comfortable and at home!
11 Ultimate Guest Bath Essentials
It’s time to make your family and friends feel special and pampered!
Let’s organize your guest bath and incorporate the following 11 items!
1) Fluffy Towels
One of the first things I purchased when we moved into this home was soft white fluffy towels for my guests!
I feel white towels give a spa atmosphere to the bathroom!
2) Make-up washcloth
I quickly learned that some people feel guilty for “dirtying up” white washcloths with their makeup!
So, I purchased a set of black washcloths to make guests feel more at ease!
I love the embroidery on them!
3) EXTRA TOILETRIES
I purchase travel-size toiletry items and put them in a basket for my guests to use!
I sat it on the back of the toilet so guests can see what is available to them.
If they run out of an item or forgot to pack something, they are covered!
Isn’t that basket beautiful? Check out what it looked like before I made it over with paint!
Specialty Hand soap and lotion
Give your guests a luxurious treat with specialty hand soap and lotion!
If you have guests that are sensitive to smells, put unscented products in the toiletry basket!
5) Tissues
Don’t forget to provide your guest with tissues; put them in a pretty holder for a bonus!
6) Paper towels
I like to have disposable paper towels for my guests to use. I lay them on a pretty tray!
7) Bath and shower mat
Provide a soft, absorbent bath mat for your guests to step on when exiting the tub/shower!
I suggest having a shower mat your guests can use if they are concerned about slipping in the tub/shower!
8) An extra place to hang towels
Provide a couple of places for your guests to hang their towels or clothes.
Our shower provides a towel rack but I purchased a hanger to go over the door for an extra place to hang things.
9) shower caddy
If your shower does not have built-in storage, add a shower caddy so your guests have a place to put their shampoo, soap, razor, etc!
10) plunger
Let’s face it, sometimes the toilet gets clogged, it’s a fact of life! Most people are super embarrassed to ask their host for a plunger.
To keep from putting your guests in this situation, store your plunger in the guest bathroom!
Camouflage it by putting it inside a basket!
11) Hair Dryer
I store my travel blow dryer in the guest bath so my visitors don’t have to pack one in their suitcase!
add a special touch
I did not include this in my list of essential items because it’s not essential!
It’s a step that goes above and beyond to make your guests feel special and loved!
If you have a large counter, add pretty flowers or a plant.
My guest bathroom is small and I don’t want to crowd the counter or my guests won’t have anywhere to sit their items.
I was looking for another way to add a special touch when I saw a great tip from my friend Missy at Sonata Home Design.
She stamps her toilet paper! Isn’t that a fun idea?

I don’t have a tool like hers, so I grabbed the next best thing, a rubber stamp with the initial “A”!
Organize the cabinet in the guest bath
Only keep the essential items your guests need in the bathroom!
In the cabinet under the sink, I store the towels, shower mat, blowdryer, and extra rolls of toilet paper!
Don’t make your guests have to ask for more toilet paper!
Well, I think I’ve covered everything!
I can’t wait for my next guests to arrive!
I hope this has inspired you to organize your guest bath!
