Here, in central Florida, we’re dealing with drought and our yard is looking rough! You’ll see a picture of it in a bit!
Thank goodness we have had cooler temperatures and some rain recently!
It was a busy week, but we had a relaxing Easter! Here are a few of the highlights!
What we’ve been up to this week
Firefly Viewing
We headed to the Oakland Nature Preserve for their annual Firefly viewing!
The Preserve stays open on select nights in late March and early April until 9 pm so visitors can explore the boardwalk to look for fireflies.
We arrived a little after 7 pm, and made our way down the boardwalk to the pavilion on Lake Apopka, viewing interesting plants and flowers along the way.
We enjoyed sitting at the pavilion until the sun went down and then, started making our way back to the entrance.
Thank goodness we came prepared with bug spray because the mosquitos came out, in force, just before the fireflies did!
We were not very impressed at first, but the further we moved away from the water, the more fireflies we saw!
It was magical to see so many of these tiny creatures in one place.
We tried to take pictures on our phones, but they turned out terrible!
I’m sorry, I wish you could have seen all the fireflies!
Easter
Normally we wouldn’t be happy that the weather was cloudy, cool, and rainy on Easter, but this year we were thrilled!
We got sprinkled on as we drove home from church, but did not get any substantial rain.
When we got home we all changed out of our “church clothes,” and into our comfy sweats before I remembered to get a picture!
Believe it or not, this is the only picture I took at our house on Easter Sunday.
We had a sweet little visitor!
Did you notice our grass? Normally, our yard would be bright green this time of year. It looks more like straw than grass!
What we’ve been up to on the blog
DIY home decor
First, we shared this adorable DIY bunny tray you can show off the entire Spring season!
I hope you’ll hop over and see how easy it is to make and see several different ways to decorate with it!
DIY gift
If you are blessed with wonderful neighbors (like we are), make them a paper May Day basket, to celebrate your friendship and the coming of Spring!
On May 1st, hang it on their front door for a special surprise!
Thank you so much for stopping by today!
We appreciate you being here more than you will ever know!
