I know it’s still August, but Halloween starts early in The Magic Kingdom! This year Disney is having an after-hours party, called Boo Bash, to celebrate the Halloween season. Since Covid-19 is still hanging on in Florida, Disney decided not to have their usual “Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party.” Instead, they replaced it with this after-hours event. We have all the details, so you can decide if this event is something you, your family, or your friends would enjoy. Here is our complete guide to Disney’s Boo Bash after-hours party!

the details
Date
Select nights from August 10th – October 31st.
Go to disneyworld.disney.go.com to see what dates are still available if any.
I’ve got some bad news! I just checked the Disney website, and ALL of the tickets are sold out! I’m not sure if Disney will add any more advance tickets. So unless you already have tickets to attend, you might have to wait until next year. Sometimes they will sell tickets on the night of the event. If you already have plans to visit Disney during this time, you may not be out of luck! Now you know how popular this event is!! Oh well, at least you can use this guide to Disney’s Boo Bash after-hours party to plan early for next year!
Time
The party is a three-hour event beginning at 9:00 pm, or 9:30 pm, depending on the date you attend.
You can access the park as early as 7 pm, and we highly recommend you do so. You’ll have at least two hours before the event starts to look at the beautiful fall decorations, shop for fun Halloween merchandise, grab a bite to eat, or get on a few rides! Just remember, it will be crowded because people who had tickets to the park that day can stay until regular park closing time. You will be able to see the regular fireworks but, after that, you must show your wristband to stay in the park!
What to do before you go
Purchase Tickets
This party is a special ticketed event, which means it does not require regular park admission. That means the park closes to all guests who attended that day at 9 pm and you can not stay unless you buy a ticket specifically for the party.
Limited tickets are available for each event, so it is not as crowded as regular park hours.
The tickets get more expensive the closer you get to Halloween. They range in price from $129.00-$199.00 per adult/child, depending on the night. Annual pass holders get a $10.00 discount in August and September. Go to Disneyworld.disney.go.com for the price of tickets.
Plan your outfit
You can dress up in a Halloween costume, wear a Halloween t-shirt, or just wear your regular clothes. Anything goes at this fun event!
Costumes are highly encouraged but Disney does have rules for guests 14 and older, so be sure to check those out before planning your costume. Many families do themed costumes and lots of people wear matching t-shirts. Rich was sporting a cute Minnie and Mickey skeleton t-shirt!
What to do when you get there
Get a wristband
If you enter Magic Kingdom between 7 pm and 9 pm you will get a special wristband for the party.
If you had a theme park ticket for the day or an annual pass, and you are already in the park before 7 pm, you can go to 2 different locations to get a wristband. They are distributed at Buzz Light Year’s Space Ranger Spin in Tomorrowland or Tortuga Tavern in Adventureland.
Pick up a Boo Bash map
It’s very important to pick up the map when you enter the park. It’s your guide to the important locations inside Disney’s Boo Bash after-hours party. It has all the information you’ll need to access the special events happening throughout the night.
I suggest you sit down and take a few minutes to acquaint yourself with the map. Then decide what activities you want to participate in!! Try to do everything in a clockwise or counterclockwise direction to save time and steps!! Remember, the party only lasts three hours, and it goes by fast!
Get a bag for trick-or-treating
Don’t forget to grab a trick or treat bag! This year’s bag is advertising the Muppets Haunted Mansion movie which will stream in October. The other side of the bag is advertising Disney’s Encanto, coming in November.
If you have a food allergy you can still trick or treat, just grab a teal-colored treat bag!
Enjoy the fall-themed decorations, lighting, and music
I love looking at all of the fall-themed decorations throughout the park! They are beautiful during the day and fun to see at night!
Included with your admission:
Rides
Spend less time waiting in line on 22 of the rides. It’s so fun to ride without waiting in a long line! We had no waiting on rides like Haunted Mansion and Peter Pan’s Flight.
Pirates of the Caribbean is one of my favorite rides! I never get tired of it!
You can see which rides are available on the map above!
Trick-or-treating
You actually get to trick or treat at eight candy stations set up around the park. When you enter the line a cast member will give you a handful of candy, not just one piece! If you have the teal bag for food allergies, you will receive a token at each candy stop. You can redeem the tokens any time during the party at the Allergy-Friendly Center in Liberty Square.
Free unlimited snacks
During the party, you get free, unlimited snacks. You have three types of ice cream treats to choose from, a Mickey ice cream bar, a Mickey ice cream sandwich, or a strawberry popsicle. You can also have a box of popcorn and select beverages. These are available at carts stationed throughout the park. You walk up to the cart and choose whatever you want, as many times as you want!
Entertainment
Cadaver Dans Barbershop Quartet
Catch a performance of the Cadaver Dans in Frontierland. They perform haunting melodies four times during the party!
The ghost of Miss Carlotta
Listen to stories by Miss Carlotta in front of the Haunted Mansion.
Spot some of your favorite characters
The Disney characters love to dress up and celebrate Halloween too!
Goofy
We saw Goofy across from Pirates of the Caribbean! Love his pirate costume!

Gideon and Foulfellow
Foulfellow and Gideon were hanging out at Pinocchios Village House!

Catch a character cavalcade
There is not a special Halloween parade at this event. Instead, they had several small character cavalcades about 10 minutes apart from each other.
Mickey’s Happy Halloween Cavalcade
Mickey, Minnie, and Pluto started the night dressed in their Halloween finest!
Disney Villain Halloween Cavalcade
Several of Disney’s scariest villains were out and about including The Queen of Hearts, Captain Hook, Jafar, and The Evil Queen!
Jack’s Nightmare Halloween Cavalcade
This was my favorite cavalcade because you rarely get to see Jack, Sally, and Oogie Boogie!
Maleficent’s Fiery Prowl
The Maleficent Dragon lights up the night with her fiery breath! It is amazing!!
special Light projections
On the castle
Ghosts were floating up the sides of Cinderella’s castle! Very spooky!

Cinderella’s Castle and Oogie Boogie in the background!
We needed a lantern to find our way to the Haunted Mansion!
Specialty items available for purchase
Halloween specialty treats
Candy and free snacks aren’t the only treats you can get at this party, there are also specialty food and beverage items you can purchase. Here’s a list of what’s available.
- Prince John Sucker Slush at Auntie Gravities Galactic Goodies
- Foolish Mortal Funnel Cake at Sleepy Hollow
- Five Dozen Eggs Slush at Storybook Treats
- Maleficent Churro at outdoor snack cart on Main Street
- Apple Ginger Dale Frozen Drink at Golden Oak Outpost
- Mocha Chocolate Chip Frozen Drink at Golden Oak Outpost
We tried two of the specialty frozen drinks! We thought something frozen sounded great since it was so hot outside!!
Rich had the Mocha Chocolate Chip, which was very yummy! It contained frozen mocha topped with whipped cream, chocolate chips, and a sugar acorn. What’s not to love!!
I had the Apple Ginger Dale, which was frozen apple cider mixed with Ginger Ale, topped with whipped cream, and chopped Twix cookie bars. Sadly, I was disappointed with my choice. It was not as flavorful as I was hoping for. I would not recommend buying it.
Halloween Merchandise
Sorry friends, I forgot to take pictures of the cute Halloween merchandise that was available at the party!
DJ DANCE PARTY IN TOMORROWLAND
If you like to dance, you can boogie on over to the Rockettower Plaza Stage in Tomorrowland and dance the night away!
