Is your home a cluttered mess? Winter is the perfect season to tackle your home organization challenge goals! Since the weather is colder and we spend more time indoors, we can create cozy, clutter-free spaces that bring peace and order to your home.
Whether you need to declutter your cabinets, organize your pantry, or clear out your laundry room, this challenge will guide you step-by-step toward a more organized and inviting home.

We know organizing a home can feel overwhelming, so to simplify the process, we divide our home into zones and spread the work over four seasons.
Ready to turn your winter downtime into a season of transformation?
ORGANIZE BY THE SEASON
Each season, we organize one zone of our home!
Here are the zones:
- Working Zone (Winter): We regularly work in the office, kitchen, and laundry rooms. The kitchen is a big job, so we separate it from the pantry. We do the same in my office by organizing the paper clutter and craft supplies on different days.
- Outdoor Zone (Spring): When the weather is nice, we tackle the outdoor spaces of our home, including the garage (shed), porch (patio, deck), attic (unfinished basement), cars (camper, boat), and yard.
- Personal Living Zone (Summer): These rooms are personal to each individual who lives in our home: primary bedroom, additional bedrooms, closets (bedroom, linen, cleaning), primary bathroom, and extra bathrooms.
- Entertaining Zone (Fall): The main rooms a guest would frequent when coming to our home: entryway, living room, dining room, family/playroom, and guest bedroom/bathroom.
Now that you know how our seasonal challenges work, let’s discuss what’s happening this winter!

Did We Meet Our Goals For The Last Challenge?
Did we meet our goals for the Fall Home Organization Challenge?
I wish I could say yes, but we fell a bit short!
Since we didn’t meet every goal, I must remind myself that progress, not perfection, leads to long-term success.
It’s better to set a goal and not meet it than not even try!
Here’s how it played out!
Goals we met
- First, we organized our small butler’s pantry.
- We shared our best tips to organize and style a china cabinet just in time for the holidays!
- Advised on how to host the best Thanksgiving with our free Thanksgiving planner.
- And last, we counted down to Christmas with a four-week checklist and planner!
Goals we did not meet
- We had big plans to finish organizing our primary closet but never got around to it.
- There’s a sitting room off our guest bedroom, where I store home decor items, and it is out of control. I’m not sure how I thought there would be time to tackle it with the coming holidays, but it didn’t happen either!
We’re in a new season, and it’s time to make new goals!
Conclusion
Participating in this Winter Home Organization Challenge will refresh your home and set the tone for a more organized and stress-free year ahead.
Remember that progress is more important than perfection—every small step brings you closer to a peaceful and inviting home.
So set some goals, celebrate your accomplishments, big or small, and take pride in the cozy, clutter-free space you create.
Here’s to a winter season filled with productivity and beautifully organized spaces!
