Whether you have a compact space or a more generous countertop, the right decor choices can make all the difference.
Let me show you how!
How to Incorporate Stylish Storage Solutions
Transforming your bathroom counter into a stylish yet practical space can elevate your morning routine and the overall aesthetic of your home.
Here are our best tips for storing items beautifully on your countertop.
Contain Items on Trays and in Baskets
Use a tray to group and organize items.
I don’t know why everyday items look prettier grouped on a tray, but they do!
Several years ago, I spray-painted this ceramic tray and the pitcher white to use in our home!
However, it works so well on my bathroom counter, that it’s never left this spot!
If your counter is too small for a long tray consider this option.
Bring in a tiered tray to take advantage of vertical space.
This is a great way to maximize counter space, store bath or beauty products, and mix in a few decorative items!
Most people store their towels in a cabinet or closet, but why not show them off?
Purchase hand towels and washcloths that embrace your bathroom’s color scheme or theme, roll them, and tuck them in a pretty basket.
Purchase hand soap and lotion that match your bathroom’s aesthetic and place them on a small tray.
Trinket holders are perfect for holding jewelry or other small items on a bathroom or kitchen counter.
I created these gorgeous trinket dishes from oyster shells!
Clear Containers
Use stylish clear containers to hold everyday essentials, like cotton swabs and pads, and add a luxurious feel to your bathroom.
Instantly elevate your counter by displaying a set of apothecary jars filled with bath products.
A drinking glass makes a budget-friendly holder for makeup brushes.
Hidden Storage Idea
In the bathroom, we usually have items we need to be accessible but don’t necessarily want others to see.
Here’s a great tip to hide items in plain sight!
Stack decorative boxes to store personal hygiene or incontinence items.
Purchase Functional Bathroom Counter Decor
Tissue and toothbrush holders are functional items that can add beauty to your bathroom counter.
Choose items that coordinate with the feel of your bathroom.
If you have difficulty finding a tissue box you like, buy one at a thrift store and paint it to match your bathroom.
You can see how I completely transformed this tissue holder with paint!
Add Personal Touches to Your Bathroom Counter
If you are a minimalist, you’ll want to skip this section!
We’ll add items you don’t need on the countertop but add tons of style!
Incorporate Greenery
Bring a bit of nature indoors by incorporating a plant.
I don’t have a green thumb.
So you won’t spot real plants in my bathroom.
Although I think real plants are lovely, I’m going with faux!
A simple succulent works perfectly in a small space!
I am obsessed with topiaries, you can find them all over my house, even in the bathroom!!
Dried Flowers
If plants aren’t your thing, consider a dried flower arrangement.
A tall skinny arrangement can work on a small or large countertop.
candles
Consider adding a candle to your countertop to add beauty and a lovely fragrance to the bathroom.
There’s nothing more relaxing than a bath by candlelight!
Add Art
Art can add a truly personal touch to any space in your home, even the bathroom!
Print a favorite saying and display it in a miniature frame.
Tuck a tiny picture into the towel basket!
Display a small print on the countertop for encouragement!
Incorporate family pictures into tiny frames on a tiered tray.
Have you ever thought about using a small sculpture?
Seasonal Decor
I love to add seasonal decor to our home but rarely add items to the bathrooms.
However, I occasionally rotate decorative items to keep the space fresh and interesting.
These tulips added a festive touch for spring!
Don’t forget about Your guests
Next time you have guests over, add a few extra touches they will love and appreciate!
Provide Disposable Hand Towels
Guests may not be comfortable using a hand towel that others have touched, so provide them with disposable towels.
Display a Toiletries basket
If you have overnight guests, set out a basket on the counter filled with toiletries in case they forgot theirs!
