Plus, we’re having friends visit for Spring break, so it’s time to clean and decorate the front porch to welcome them!
Whether you’re hosting guests or love sitting outside, here are easy and simple ways to prepare your porch for spring!
Quick Spring Porch Decor Ideas
Start with the door
A quick and easy way to decorate your front porch for Spring is to hang a seasonal wreath on your front door!
If you follow the blog you’ve already seen this moss mushroom wreath I made to decorate our front door for Spring! If you’re new here and want to know how I made it, click the blue link!
Many people hang a wreath and call their Spring decorating done but there are many other ways to add a seasonal touch to your porch!
Incorporate Planters
Invest in planters you love, and can be used indoors or outdoors during different seasons.
Our black planters are new, and I plan to bring them inside during the holidays to hold Christmas trees!
Embrace faux plants
In many areas around the country, it’s still too cold to plant real flowers, so why not embrace faux plants and flowers during early Spring?
If you don’t want to water plants, keep them up through the summer!
I made the pretty DIY topiaries from grapevine wreaths!
Add a Doormat
A doormat is a must because it helps keep your home clean by catching dirt, dust, and debris that can come inside.
Doormats also look great and provide the perfect decor touch to your entrance.
Set out lanterns
Lanterns are a great addition to any porch!
You can put citronella candles inside to keep bugs away or decorate them with seasonal items!
Bring indoor Furniture Outside
I love to use indoor furniture outside, but be warned if you do this!
The elements will take a toll on furniture that was not made to withstand the elements.
So, only do this with older pieces that you don’t intend to bring back indoors.
I bought this rattan chair for my first apartment, so needless to say, it’s old, lol!
The table came from Rich’s parent’s house, the top is in terrible shape, and we don’t have room for it inside the house.
We plan to use it outside until we can come up with a way to upcycle it!
Get Comfy
If you want to enjoy sitting on your porch, don’t forget to make your seating comfortable!
Throw pillows add the comfy factor and look great too!
Don’t forget Spring Touches
Be sure to add some seasonal touches to your porch!
Bird nests with speckled eggs, scream Spring to me!
I tucked them inside both our grapevine topiaries!
And, included one in our nature-inspired wreath!
Then, I tucked another nest in this cute basket and placed a wooden bunny in front of it!
Add a bit of whimsy
Brainstorm things that remind you of Spring and then find a way to incorporate them into your decor.
I pulled out my rain boots and since I used faux plants, I can decorate with my watering can!
In Conclusion
I’m excited to have a pretty porch that is easy and quick to assemble!
The best part is the low maintenance and no need to water flowers!
